15 Things Vegetarians Get Tired Of Hearing
theodysseyonline.com

I have been a vegetarian all my life, and I am happy about it! My reason is not just because it's a family belief, but also because I am against eating slaughtered animals. Another reason is to be more healthy and fit. If there is something I dislike, it's the stupid comments made by some non-vegetarian people. Check out the list of things vegetarians get tired of hearing.

1. "You don't know what you're missing."
Nope, actually you don't know what you're missing

2. "Where do you get your proteins from?"
Um... You get protein from broccoli, too. Even dal, tofu and beans. You don't get proteins from just meat. Get your facts right!

3. "So, what do you eat? Salad?"
Salad is not the only thing vegetarians eat. There is pizza, roti, paneer, chocolate, etc.

4. "Is it OK if I eat meat in front of you?"
I am eating vegetarian food in front of you, did I ask for your permission?

5. "It's delicious. At least try it once!"
No thank you. Why don't you try what I am eating? Vegetarian food is delicious too!

6. "At least eat the gravy."
I can't eat non-veg just for the gravy.

7. "You know, this one time, even I didn't have meat for like a week!"
Congratulations!

8. "But the animal is already dead."
So what? It's still an animal!

9. "Do you like dairy products? They come from animals too!"
Oh really? I didn't know that! Why don't you go research about the difference between vegetarian and vegan? Then come and tell me this.

10. "Just take the chicken off the pizza and eat the rest of the slice."
Since there are vegetarian pizzas, why not just go for them?

11. "I will add meat to your food without asking."
You dare!

12. "What will you do if you get married to a non-vegetarian?"
I will just be romantic with my husband. We don't need food to come between our relationship.

13. "What would you do when you are stranded on an island?"
I'd rather starve and drink water than eat animals.

14. "Have you developed a laser-sharp vision to spot meat in food?"
What do you think?

And, last but, not least.

15. "You look so good for a vegetarian."
Oh please! Stop thinking that vegetarians are weak! At least we are healthy!

This is for all my vegetarian friends who also get asked these stupid questions. There is nothing wrong in being a vegetarian! I hope people understand that.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
