We've all been there - your life is going full speed ahead and all of a sudden everything has caught up with you. You're overwhelmed. It's ok - take a deep breath - I've got some solutions.
1. Call your mom.
Your mom always knows what to say to calm you down. She will tell you how awesome you are and how you can handle anything!
2. Make a list.
Make a list of all the things you need to do to keep track of it all. Go through the list one by one and check them off as you complete your tasks! You'll feel better seeing how much you're accomplishing as the list gets smaller and smaller.
3. Take a nap.
Schedule yourself an hour in the middle of the day to get some much needed rest. Sleep is very important and can help alleviate the stress that you're feeling.
4. Get a good night's sleep.
If you can't take a nap, then this is even more important. Get at least 8 hours of sleep. Being well rested will help you stay alert and make your list of things to do not seem so bad.
5. Take a break.
If you've been doing homework for a couple hours, take a 10 minute break. Take a deep breathe, look at what all you've accomplished, and remember why you're working so hard! It will make it seem much more worth it.
6. Go hang out with your friends.
No one is better than friends at distracting you and making you feel better. If school is becoming too difficult or a relationship is becoming strained, a night out with your friends can really help you get space and clarity.
7. Take a drive.
Get your throwback playlist ready and just drive. You will feel better just driving around alone listening to music and enjoying your freedom.
8. Watch your favorite movie or TV show.
Nothing makes me feel better than watching a couple episodes of Friends and it will get your mind off whatever is stressing you out.
9. Take a bath.
Take a long, hot bath and try and enjoy the peace and quiet. Just try and relax.
10. Read a book.
Take some time off and pick out a new book or even an old favorite. Escape your world for another less stressful reality.
11. Plan a vacation.
Plan a vacation and look forward to a time when you will have less to do and can relax on vacation with some friends or family.
12. Go on a date.
Get your boyfriend or even just someone you're interested in to take you on a date.
13. Pamper yourself.
Use a face mask, get a manicure or pedicure, or even a massage.
14. Comfort food.
Make cookies or a cake or anything sweet and just eat your stress away.
15. Tell yourself it's going to be okay.
Remind yourself that life goes on and that whatever is stressing you out will pass.
