Life can get crazy sometimes and we can feel overwhelmed with emotions and thoughts and work/school schedules. It's so hard to focus on the positive when all we can keep thinking about is the negatives. I know it's hard to pick yourself back up when you're feeling so low and lost, but it's not permanent! Here are 15 things you can do if life has got you down:

1. Have something healthy for each meal that you eat

Eating healthy makes me feel good about myself and when I've had something healthy for each meal, I feel like did my body good. If you want some brownies, don't me stop you. Comfort food is good too!

2. Take a shower

Use your favorite shampoo and body wash. Afterwards, put on that scented lotion you never get to use, but love.

3. Put on your favorite outfit

My motto is always, "if you look good, you feel good".

4. Clean/organize your house

I don't know about you, but having a clean room and being organized clears my mind and eases my stress.

5. Watch funny Youtube videos

You can never go wrong with Jimmy Fallon's Hashtag segments!

6. Try not go to on social media

That will only make you feel worse. You'll be comparing your life to others who probably are feeling the same way, but mask it with pictures of their fake life.

7. Go for a walk

Plug in some headphones, throw on some sneakers and just take a mind clearing walk

8. Buy a salt lamp

These are really great for cleansing the air, increasing energy levels, and improving your mood and concentration! You can get one for $20 at Bed, Bath, and Beyond!

9. Play with puppies

Go volunteer at an animal shelter and you can play with puppies all while giving back to your community.

10. Go to the beach

The ocean breeze and the sound of the waves can be very relaxing. It's always nice to take a breather.

11. Watch your favorite movie

Netflix, need I say more?

12. Write down a list of things you've accomplished in life so far

13. Meditate

Get the "Calm" app. There's a lot of breathing exercises and relaxing music to listen to.

14. Spend some time with close friends

Get together with some close friends of your that you know will have nothing but positivity energy around you.

15. Drink some tea

I love to drink some honey lavender tea to help relax myself

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
