The news has been filled with terrible news lately, and the news is extremely important to talk about. However, it is also important to talk about the good things. Let's talk about little good things that we don't mention enough.

1. Dresses with pockets.

You don't know true joy until you have found the perfect skirt or dress...and it has POCKETS. If you compliment someone on their skirt and it has pockets, you will be informed of them. It's only fair.

2. Finding money in your pockets.

Those pockets sometimes have a 5 dollar bill in them. Or a 1 dollar bill. Every little bit that you forgot about helps.

3. When your favorite song comes on in public.

I'm typing this on my break at work and we are playing the Hamilton soundtrack (while I'm drinking a chai latté). Life is good. And then they played Tegan & Sara.

4. When you wake up with your pet cuddling with you.

A fluffy tiny creature is the best creature. When you wake up and discover that the tiny creature is cuddling with you, it is the only pleasant way to wake up.

5. A slow day at work.

Those days when people seem to have better things to do than go to your workplace. And you are not upset about that.

6. Passing a test you didn't study for.

We've all been there. You have four tests on one day and you have to prioritize. You pass the test that you thought you didn't necessarily need to study for. And it is a beautiful day.

7. A good sale.

When your favorite store has a sale, you'll know it. Then you spend a good portion of your paycheck. And it's okay.

8. When you wake up in the morning and realize you have more time to sleep.

Sometimes your internal alarm clock decides to be nice to you.

9. Coming home to a clean living space.

After a long day, it's nice to come home to organization. Even if it's just a made bed.

10. Going out to eat.

You may not understand this pleasure fully unless you've struggled with money. Trust me. It's a luxury.

11. A new planner.

There's just something about it. A clean slate future.

12. A new jar of Nutella.

There's nothing like that gold seal.

13. A perfectly circular pancake.

All nicely stacked in a little pancake pile. You send pictures to your friends...or is that just me...

14. A good cup of coffee.

The perfect blend is not easy. That takes work.

15. A new book.

That new book smell is like no other.
