One of the biggest adjustments that a student has to make when beginning college is dealing with a different living situation. For the first time, students are no longer living with their parents and sharing space with siblings that they are comfortable with; instead, they are now living in a small space with a stranger. Whether students live in a double person dorm room, a single bedroom with suitemates, or an apartment complex, they are learning how to share a space with new people in a totally different environment.
Coming to terms with your living situation, no matter what the specific details entail, can be challenging. Hopefully, you are able to adjust with ease and no problems; however, if things are not as swift as you would have preferred, hopefully, you take those moments as important learning experiences to define yourself and your value preferences. Eventually, you will enjoy living with somebody whether they were your first roommate (lucky!) or your fourth.
