Fall is my favorite season of the year for countless reasons. From the lights to the clothing, it's like the world turns into a wonderland during this time of year! Even though I'd never be able to list all of the reasons for why I love fall, here are 13 of the most important ones:

1. The weather goes from a hot summer to a mild fall.

It's about time, too! After enduring a long summer full of humid weather, the best feeling is having a calm and breezy day. The weather gets so nice that you just want to sit outside and never go back in.

2. You get to wear layers of clothing, and hoodies are back in season.

I think fall is better than summer because as they say: when you're warm, it's tough to cool down, but when you're cold, you can always bundle up. Clothing in the fall is so comfortable because most people care more about feeling warm than looking good, and fuzzy socks and over-sized sweaters make a reappearance.

3. Warm drinks make a comeback.

Who doesn't love hot chocolate on a cold day? Any local coffee shop becomes heaven in autumn; the warm drinks contrast the cool weather outside. Starbucks becomes popular in this area, and the lines on colder days are endless.

4. The leaves brighten up the sky.

When the leaves turn yellow, orange and red, it seems like every place lights up with the bright colors. Having the leaves fall on the ground right after they've changed colors is one of the prettiest things nature can give. Georgia has lots of trees, so seeing the leaves change colors in fall is like watching a spectrum of new colors appear before your eyes.

5. The whole month of October is a party.

Halloween isn't just on the 31st; it's every day of October! October's just a month-long party of skeletons and ghosts with candy mixed in. Let's also not forget the scary movies that come on every night. Trick-or-treating is always something to do if you want to recapture those old Halloween traditions, but watching horror movies at night is just as fun.

6. People come together more often.

Families get closer, and friends have even more excuses to spend time together. For some reason, fall brings the most different of people together.

7. Black Friday means more gifts.

Although Cyber Monday is rising in popularity with people's dependence on technology, Black Friday will always hold the title for one of the most fun days of the year. You can get so many gifts for the same price as less items on a different day of the year, and you'll feel that satisfaction of having beat others to the chase. For me, I love waking up early to go shopping, and I always end up being at the mall around lunchtime.

8. Thanksgiving week is the best week of the year.

The Macy's Day Thanksgiving Parade takes place in the late morning on Thanksgiving Day, there's no school for the whole week and everyone spends time with friends or family. Every holiday holds a special place in people's hearts, but Thanksgiving is a kind of its own. Some houses will put up Thanksgiving decorations, and stores also put up lights and banners celebrating the holiday.

9. You now have the ability to take really artsy photos.

Summer is about taking bright and happy photos, but fall is the best time of year to get eye-catching pictures that show off your photography skills. For some people, having really nice pictures for Instagram is a top priority, so thank goodness Georgia has a corn maze and a sunflower farm. Take advantage of the season by capturing what makes it beautiful!

10. Daylight Savings finally ends.

On Nov. 5, Daylight Savings ends, which means you get to sleep an extra hour! You also have the advantage of waking up an hour earlier than you're supposed to because your sleep schedule hasn't adjusted yet. Fall just keeps getting better.

11. School is basically out every other day.

Long weekends happen more frequently during this time of year, and school is sometimes cancelled due to dangerous weather. At times it's like there are more days off than there are of school.

12. Everyone suddenly gets happier.

The happiness that floats in the air is contagious and impossible to avoid, so everyone is the victim of this sudden shift in mood. The fast-approaching holiday season's charm is rubbing off on everyone who knows about it.

13. The community puts up lights and decorations.

Different neighborhoods will put up string lights and wreaths on their signs and street lamps, and trees glow in the night with lights strung on every branch. It's magical to see and a great way for anyone to enjoy fall festivities. Everyone gets opportunity to enjoy this time of year just with decorations.

14. The fair comes to town!

The Cumming Fair comes around this time of year! This year, it's from Oct. 5 to 15. Be sure to visit while you can, and... there are 52 more festivals from which you can pick!

15. Visit naturist scenery while you still can!

From pumpkin patches to sunflower fields to apple picking events — take advantage of the glimmering sunlight and chilly weather to venture out into nature before winter comes.

Enjoy your fall in Georgia!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
