What do you mean you haven't heard of buster the bulldog? Have you been hiding under a rock?! Well, for those of you who aren't aware, Union University now holds the title for "Cutest Mascot Alive." Don't believe me?

I know, he's the cutest darn thing. He's not "just a dog." He is a precious cinnamon roll, too good for this world. This article is here to help you sort your overwhelming emotions about the greatest bulldog to have ever walked across this campus.

1. Hearing about Buster for the first time.

Finding out about Buster is like finding out that you won the lottery. Actually, it might be more exciting? Yeah, it's definitely better than any monetary reward.

2. Seeing Buster's pics on Facebook.

You can hear it in the silence/ You can feel it on the way home/ You can see it with the lights out/ You are in love, true love / You are in love - Taylor Swift, "You are in Love"

How is it possible for one little bulldog to be so perfect?

3. Spreading the good news that our mascot is alive.

(I am aware that this is slightly heretical, but instead of getting angry just look at more Buster pictures).

4. Losing sleep over the anticipation of meeting Buster.

I walked into a chair today / ‘Cause I was thinking about you / Your face jumped right in my way / Like lately things do / Oh, baby can’t you see / The thought of you makes a mess of me - Taylor Swift, "Thinkin Bout You"

That's right, I've got a crush on Buster the bulldog.

5. Wiggling your butt in the air, cuz you just don't care.

Just kidding, you care too much. Like way, way too much. Like, calm down a bit. Gosh.

6. Turning into an excited dog who wants to play.

If you hear giggling and squealing on campus, just assume that somebody just had the pleasure of meeting our sweet lil Buster.

7. Fangirling with your friends who just saw the most popular creature on campus.

If you can see that I'm the one who understands you / Been here all along so why can't you see / You belong with me / You belong with Me - Taylor Swift, "You Belong with Me"

"You'll never guess who I just saw." (Collective gasps). "No, you didn't!" "I did!" "I can't believe you met Buster!!!" - An actual conversation that I overheard.

8. Constantly keeping an eye out for our special little bull pup.

It's not stalking if it's not a person. I think.

9. Remembering that you can't scare Buster with your excitement.

It is practically impossible to keep your love for Buster contained.

10. Watching the toughest bulldogs melt at the sight of such a wondrous pup.

Buster could easily bring a grown man to tears.

11. Accidentally becoming a gymnast because you're so dang excited.

'Cause I see, sparks fly, whenever you smile - Taylor Swift, "Sparks Fly"

Never underestimate the power of School Spirit.

12. Squealing because Buster just licked your face.

If this has happened to you, you have been touched by an angel. You have been blessed beyond belief.

13. Calling your friends back home and bragging about Buster.

And your momma's waiting up / And you're thinking he's the one / And you're dancing around the room when the night ends / When the night ends - Taylor Swift, "Fifteen"

I'm not going to lie to you, readers, half of my conversations are about Buster.

14. Shimmying because you've never loved something that you haven't met so much.

Hear that boys? You've got some competition coming your way.

15. Anxiously anticipating Buster's welcome party.

Mark your calendars, everybody! April 22 at 3. Be there or be square.

I hope you're reading this, Buster! We love you!!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
