1. Wrap a rubber band around the lid of nail polish to make opening the bottle easier.

2. If you are struggling with ache, buy seven small towels and put a clean one on your pillow every night of the week.

3. Watching your favorite movie can decrease anxiety. 

4. Make a ring shape around your eye with your fingers if you don't have your glasses and need to read.

5. Taping googly eyes on either sides of your webcam during an online interview can help you maintain eye contact. 

6. Need to soften butter quickly? Microwave a glass of water and then pour the water out. Place the glass over the butter and it will take a couple minutes. 

7. Thinking about your favorite food can decrease physical and emotional pain. 

8. Slip a coin down the inside of the hem of a tie to keep it down on a windy day. 

9. Put garlic cloves in a pot and shake it hard to peal them effortlessly. 

10. Putting Vicks VapoRub on your feet under socks to stop night time coughs. 

11. Anytime you feel like you need something but can't figure out what it is, It is water. 

12. "Beauty Sleep" is a real thing. Scientist have found that well rested people look more attractive and younger. 

13. Over being blown up with newsletters from companies? Add +spam before the @ and all their emails will go straight to your spam account. 

14. Yellow traffic lights duration depends on the speed limit. For example, a light with be yellow for 5 seconds in a 50 mph zone.

15. If your shoes get wet, put newspaper in them before putting them in the refrigerator. In a few hours they will be dry.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines.
