15 Kick-Ass Rules To Live By
Huffington Post

On my favorite feeds that I follow, there was recently a thread where one woman asked, “What are some of the Kick-Ass rules that you have set for yourself, in order to better yourself?” Yes, I did read through all 59 comments. And, I took bits and pieces of the rules that women set for themselves to own their lives. Here’s my favorites.

1. On Tough Choices:

If it’s not right for one of you, it’s not right for two of you.

2. On Making Mistakes:

Don’t ever dwell. Know your worth & move forward.

3. On Cutting People Out of Your Life:

If you don’t feel like you could call them with the best news of your life and they’d be genuinely happy for you—they’re not your friends.

4. On the Past:

Don’t look back, you’re not going that way.

5. On Fashion:

Only one animal print at a time.

6. On Bad Days:

If that’s the worst that can happen to you, you still had a pretty good day.

7. On People Pleasing:

A lack of planning on your part doesn’t constitute an emergency on mine.

8. On Comparison:

Comparison is the thief of joy.

9. On Grudges:

Bitterness is drinking a poison and waiting for the other to die.

10. On Enjoying Life:

The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.

11. On Voting:

If you don’t vote, you can’t bitch.

12. On Messed Up Plans:

It’s going to be okay.

13. On Finishing Tasks:

You can and you will do this.

14. On Worrying:

You can’t worry about the things you can’t control.

15 On the Small Things:

Will this matter in (5 minutes, hours, days, years)?

When life gets you down, it helps to put things in perspective. Make your own set of rules to live by and make sure that you remember that life is bigger than the moment.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
