Whether you're up and at 'em for an 8:00am class on the other side of campus, or having the luxury of your first class not starting until 1:00pm, going to class can be a struggle sometimes. The point is, no matter where you go or what year you are, I'm sure at least a couple of these thoughts ring a bell.

1.) "What kind of caffeine was given to these squirrels?"

I'm not entirely sure about college campuses elsewhere, but my college campus' population is probably somewhere along the lines of 40% faculty/students and 60% squirrels.

2.) "Walk FASTER."

This happens every single time you need to get somewhere in an appropriate and timely manner, and personally one of the most aggravating things to happen during my morning commute across campus. If you are on the verge of being late for class, you can almost assume that you will get stuck behind a "Sunday Driver."

3.) "Could you not take up the entire sidewalk?"

This is just as equally aggravating as number two...especially whenever ONE PERSON has decided to walk right in the middle of the sidewalk. I get walking in bigger groups, but dang, if you're by yourself? Follow the rules of the road please and stay on the right in your lane...thanks.

4.) "Do I have time to stop for coffee?"

The answer is always yes if your bank account or FLEX dollars allow you to.

5.) "Do I know that person I just awkwardly passed?"

You probably did know that person...or what if you didn't? What if it was just a doppelganger of that person in your English class that you kind of talk to, but don't know their name? You'll never know.

6.) "I can't do today."

You have four projects, three research papers, two exams, and a personal statement...you can't.

7.) "This week is so long..."

You said this when it was still Monday.

8.) "I don't know what is due this week...wait, I don't even know what is due today."

Blackboard never tells you when the correct due dates are and you don't keep an agenda (or update it like you should), so who knows? Not you! That's for sure!

9.) "Maybe class will be unexpectedly canceled."

Probably not, but wishful thinking never hurt anyone.

10.) "How do people have the motivation to dress ridiculously nice at this hour?"

I'll stick to wearing my Nike's, old worn out jeans (sometimes sweatpants), a t-shirt, and a hat. No regrets.

11.) "It's too cold."

Yet still, there are people who wear shorts and t-shirts without any coats in the middle of the Christmas season. Have fun with that stuffy nose and sore throat during finals week.

12.) "It's too hot."

It took exactly three seconds of being outside for you to acquire armpit stains on your gray t-shirt even though you applied half the bottle of deodorant.

13.) "I just want to go to sleep."

Don't we all?

14.) "..."

Nothing - you literally zone out for the entirety you are walking from Point A to Point B disregarding anything happening around you from alien invasions to your shoe being untied.

Whatever thoughts you think walking across campus, just know that it will all be worth it one day when you receive that piece of paper on stage that you have to pay for to prove you completed your degree(s).

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
