Since I have recently finished my second year at the University of Virginia, I thought I should do a recap of the things that have occurred since I've been here. So check out the list below and see what has happened these past two years!

1. I say 'Grounds' instead of 'campus'

It’s UVA thing, just deal with it.

2. I learned to like the color orange

Orange was not exactly my favorite color before but your choice in college should not be dictated by school colors!

3. I have access to all the gyms on Grounds but I still just sit on the couch

Okay, I have actually been to the gym a few times!

4. I have a lot of blue and orange in my closet

What can I say, I can help myself. I live in UVa t-shirts now.

5. I went to a college bowl game

It was fun until I froze all day outside during the game. I think I am still defrosting!

4. I have battled with SIS, our online student information center

Signing up for classes can still be a nightmare.

5. I look at people strangely if they refer to Thomas Jefferson as a person who is still alive

No, we are not hanging out with TJ on the lawn.

6. I eat less home cooked meals

I live off of french fries, yogurt, and oatmeal.

7. I have learned the bus system at UVA inside and out

Okay maybe not all the bus routes but I have learned enough not to get lost.

8. I cannot live without Roots

If you haven’t been, you haven’t lived. If you are in Charlottesville go eat at Roots Natural Kitchen!

9. I appreciate coffee so much more than I did before

Thank goodness we have a Starbucks on Grounds. My favorite is the caramel macchiato!

10. I am 99.9% percent sure I can tell you what a 'Wahoo' actually is

Okay don't ask me, just google it.

11. I have become obsessed with grilled cheese sandwiches from West Range Cafe

West Range Cafe is a place on Grounds and they make amazing grilled cheese sandwiches.

12. Tennis shoes are my new best friends

Let's just say that I do not have a lot of time to get a pedicure while in college.

14. I have studied a lot

Suprise, people actually come to college to learn!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
