Even when we try to say differently, all every one of us wants is to find the person who we will spend our lives with. We want to find the person who would be content sitting with you in the morning drinking a cup of coffee while you both read. Who can't wait to adventure around the world with you, and who will look at you with nothing but pure love and adoration. But what our generation tends to forget about is staying true to ourselves.

We get so consumed with finding someone to love us that we end up changing bits and pieces of ourselves that we believe are unlovable in order to "be better" for another person. How do I know this? Because I've been there. Hell, I've been on both sides of it. I've been in a relationship where I kept changing pieces of who I was in order to try and make someone stay (which I should add didn't work), and I've been where I swore I would never love again and then all of a sudden he found me and all of my quirks.

So, from a girl who spent years learning this the hard way, here are things he should truly love you for:

Your intelligence

He shouldn't simply fall in love with your good looks. He should fall in love with the look on your face when you're thinking really hard and trying to learn something new. "Don't compliment my beauty, compliment my brain. That's how I'll know it's real."

Your independence

Everyone wants to feel needed at times, but if he's really going to love you he's also going to love you for your independence. He should love you for being able to handle things on your own, even if you don't have to because it will show him your strength and capabilities.

Your humor

Whether you're a fan of poor knock knock jokes or puns that make sense to hardly anyone other than you, he should love you for your humor because it will be unique to you. What makes you laugh should soon become some of his favorite things because they will instantly bring a smile to your face.

Your sense of adventure

You will see the world differently than he does and therefore he should love you for the way your heart races at the thought of an adventure. Whether it's a long roadtrip across the country, or simply spending the day exploring your hometown, it wont matter as long as you're together.

Your dance moves

If you're anything like me, I cannot dance at all. Seriously, I start dancing and people actually ask me what I'm doing. But he should love you whether you can dance or not because it just shows your happy. And hey, sometimes you just need to dance it out.

How you look without makeup on

Obviously most girls believe they look better with a face full of makeup and their hair done, shoot I know I feel like I can take on the world when I have my favorite lipstick on. But he should also love how you look without any of that expensive product on becuase it is your natural beauty.

Creativity

Whether it's the way your brain works, how you design cards for your friends, or how you plan date night, your creativity should make him fall even more in love with you. When he see's how much work and effort you put into everything you do will give him a deeper insight into who you are.

Relationship with family and friends

We all learn about the people in our lives by watching how they interact with their family and friends. This is often how we even gain that "feeling" about whether or not we should attempt a friendship with a new person. He should be no different in this. He will see how you interact with your family, your best friends, and even strangers and it will show him who is important to you and what being close to you looks like. And an added benefit from this can be when you two are getting serious and talking about the future, your relationships with your loved ones can give him an idea of what you would be like as a wife and starting a family with you.

Your passions

How your eyes light up when you talk about something you love. How when you get excited about something you can't stop talking and you don't even realize how fast your talking, he will see how happy your passions make you and what is important to you in your life. He should love you for how excited you are to tell him about something new you learned that day, or something you found you want to try. Your passions make you who you are, and he should love you for them.

Your quirks

Your quirks are what make you unique and unlike everyone else. He should love you for your little quirks and habits that you may not even realize you have, because these are the things that make up you.

The little things you do

Whether it's color coding your notes in order to make it easier for your classmate to understand when they copy them down after missing class to going out of your way to make someone smile, he should fall more in love with you everyday for all of the little things that you do. He will see how big your heart is and how much you care about him and those around you.

Having the courage to say no

Although he may quickly learn that you will do just about anything for those you care about, he should also love you when you say no. It can come to a point where you're doing so much for someone that they may try to walk all over you because they know you'll do whatever you can to fix it. These are the moments when you will learn to say no, and he should love you even when he is the one you are saying no too.

Your Support

The way you support him in everything he does will again show him your heart and what you will do for those around you. He should love you for the support you give him not because he has too, but because you truly believe in him and have his back 110%.

Falling in love not only gives you a chance at love and a chance at your happily ever after, but it gives you a new friendship that will be unlike any other. When you truly love someone, they become your best friend and will be excited to go through life with you by his side.
