What REALLY goes on during a vacation.

What time is it?

IT’S SWEET SUMMA TIME!! I don’t know about y’all but this is the time of year that I travel the most. I'm not talking about global travel- I wish. I normally just go to the beach and sometimes the mountains. but the trips I take are always amazing- because of the people I take with me. This past weekend I went on a girl’s trip with 2 of my closest gal-pals.

We went to my friend’s beach house. It was so nice to spend four days with my squad. Just us and the water. We had so many adventure within this small amount of time and created thousands of memories that I know I’ll never forget.

While I was on this trip I started thinking of how even though each trip I take is unique, there are some overlaps or similarities between them. So, here are a few of the similarities between my trips-and probably yours-that I noticed.

1. When all of your plans have come together and you and your squad are going on vacation.

2. On the ride.

3. Exploring the new place.

4. Claiming your space.

Your bed. Your area in the bathroom. I normally unpack and place my things where I want, claiming my space there. To make it feel more home-y and comfortable, I guess.

5. Trying to turn the shower on.

6. First night sleeping in a new place, and its nice at first...

7. BUT you're soon terrified of every little sound in the darkness.

EVERY time I sleep in a new place I swear I hear a ghost/burglar. I know in the light of day that those creaks are nothing. But at night I SWEAR I hear a ghost- even though I don't believe in them- or someone who is breaking in to murder me in the night. I don't know why, but it happens every time.

8. Waking up excited for the first day of your vacay.

9. Embarking on a new adventure.

Whether its riding a new ride, fishing for the first time, or starting a new book while you lounge on the beach- its all an exciting adventure!

10. Trying new foods and restaurants.

11. Finding/ Buying souvenirs to remember the trip FOREVAH.

Me and my girls found a bunch of sand dollars and shells. IT. WAS. AMAZING. I'm kinda obsessed with shells so this place was like a sandy wonderland for me.

12. Meeting a bunch of new people.

As you can see, this could either be amazing or horrible-depending on your personality. I tend to be more like Monica with this, but I'm always more like Monica....

13. The night before you know you have to leave the next day.

14. When you're leaving the hotel/island/beach/wherever you were.

I hope you have amazing vacations this summer!! :)

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
