Throwback music

It’s a sunny 75-degree afternoon, you’re cruising down the thruway with a car packed to the brim of college stuff, and you’re getting closer and closer to summer vacation. Well, it turns out that was my exact scenario earlier today. But you know what makes this little image even better? A throwback playlist! Yes, nothing makes me more excited than jamming out to songs that bring me right back to my childhood. Let’s face it, deep, deep down, everyone has a smidge of Hannah Montana in them. So, here it is: The throwback playlist that is sure to put a smile on your face.

1. "Party in the U.S.A" - Miley Cyrus

Your car will definitely be a party the minute this tune comes on.

2. "Burnin’ Up" - Jonas Brothers

Who doesn’t love a good JoBro throwback?

3. "Come Clean" - Hilary Duff

When I was 7, I thought Miss Duff was the coolest girl around; this song was definitely my jam.

4. "Say OK" - Vanessa Hudgens

I’m sure I’m not the only girl who was just a tad jealous that Hudgens dated Zac Efron, and then freaked out when he was in her music video. If you say “no," there is a good chance you’re lying.

5. "Wannabe" - Spice Girls

Everyone will be singing this song on the top of their lungs as soon as it starts playing.

6. "S.O.S" - Jonas Brothers

S.O.S, I think I might be a permanent Jonas Brothers fangirl. This song will always make me dance no matter what.

7. "Why Not" - Hilary Duff

Why are you not jamming out to this song right now?

8. "Not Like That" - Ashley Tisdale

Tisdale’s album may not have been a huge hit, but back in those good ol’ middle school days, this song knew how to put me in a good mood.

9. "Bye Bye Bye" - N’Sync

Everyone will instantly whip out that infamous hand movement. Literally, everyone.

10. "The Climb" - Miley Cyrus

Back in the day, I was a huge Miley Cyrus fan. This song used to be my favorite, and I may or may not still know the words.

11. "This is What Dreams Are Made Of" - Hilary Duff

OK, so Duff strikes again. In my opinion, she has the best throwback songs around. Despite the high amount of auto tune, it’s impossible not to dance and sing along.

12. "Hit Me Baby One More Time" - Britney Spears

This is a classic.

13. "Naturally" - Selena Gomez

This song brings out the 13-year-old in me. You know, after all these years, it never gets old when it pops up on my Hilary Duff Pandora station.

Next time you need a pick me up, or you’re just looking for songs to bring you back to your childhood, put these on and you'll be dancing the rest of the day.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
