Oh college.
It's the time of your life when you live off of Ramen and Totino's Pizza Rolls and live with more people than is humanly comfortable.
From the dorms to your senior year party palace, your college roommates will end up shaping your college experience. So, if you've ever lived with more people than you can count on one hand, take a moment to appreciate all that they taught you and all that you went through together.
1. There will always be a "Mexican Standoff" when it comes to the dishes.
And usually, the cleanest roommate will give in and do them.
2. No matter how early you get up, someone will have used all of the hot water.
And, without fail, someone will always hop into the shower as soon as you motivate yourself to get up and pee.
3. Every light in the house will be turned on and left that way.
In fact, you're pretty sure the lights have been on since the first day of fall term and you're amazed the bulbs haven't burned out yet.
4. It will always be unclear what food is communal.
Go ahead, write you name on that brand new carton of OJ and watch it get used as a chaser.
5. You will always know when someone is having sex...ALWAYS!
Whether you hear peculiar noises through the walls or the pull on your lamp starts to shake, you will always know.
6. There will always be someone to pick you up from the bars at 2 a.m.
And they will ALWAYS be down for grabbing late-night Taco Bell. God Bless.
7. And, there will always be someone to grab food with.
Eating with a friend is always better than eating alone.
8. You will probably throw the best parties.
With so many people living under one roof, you're bound to have A LOT of potential party guests and you're bound to get a few noise complaints.
9. Only one person will end up cleaning up after a party and that will be whoever doesn't have a hangover.
And they will never complain or seem to mind doing the cleaning. Morning-afters are their secret superpower.
10. They're there to indulge you in your vices.
Whether it's GoT or The Bachelorette, as long as there is wine and good company, you will always have someone there to join you in unwarranted commentary.
11. You will become the best of friends.
Despite all the times they annoy you, don't clean up after themselves, leave their clothes in the washing machine, or hog the television, your college roommates have seen you at your best and absolute worst. They still manage to find you cool enough to share a beer with on the front porch.
Whether you're a freshman moving into the dorms or "Craigslist-ing" it for your final year, remember that there will never be another time when you stay up until 4:30 in the morning shooting the sh*t and making memories.
