When coming to college, you learn to appreciate the little things. Whether it is a college life hack or a life tool, every little bit helps.
1. Quizlet.com
Quizlet was created by the gods. Any test or homework questions/answers we need can most likely be on this site. It's free, reliable, and all we could ever ask for. It can be an awesome study tool too.
2. Carpooling with friends
Parking is our worst nightmare right behind that tall pile of homework we have to do. A friend that offers to drive is a real friend. Just make sure to always offer every now and then to keep it balanced.
3. Teachers that can be understood
It is one of the most frustrating things when we pay so much money to get an education, but we are held back from our full potential due to a communication error. Teachers that are able to effectively communicate information through lecture are very much appreciated.
4. A homecooked meal
Homecooked meals are something that is underrated until we enter college. After eating every meal from a cafeteria, restaurant, fast food, or a bag, a nice warm meal made by family is WONDERFUL.
5. A planner
Our planners become the one thing that truly keeps your life together. It helps you keep up with when what is due, when meetings are, whose birthday it is, etc. Planners are some of the best things invented.
6. Privacy
Especially when living in a dorm, privacy is the gem of college life and is very much appreciated.
7. Mom
Need somebody to talk to when walking around campus at night? MOM. Need some encouragement to get through that hard day? MOM. Anything U need? MOM.
8. Friends in classes
It is a terrifying moment when we wake up and realize we slept through our morning classes. Then we start to think about all the notes we missed, the test will probably be on that specific lecture because the universe is out to get us, and we might as well just drop out now.
But, if you make friends with people in your class they can help us out! Truly a blessing.
9. Any free time
Any time that we do not have anything to do is a rare but beautiful occasion.
10. Homework
Yes I know, it is weird to appreciate homework. In college, most of our grade is made of just a couple of test; therefore, when you get homework that can help out your grade it's amazing.
11. Student discounts
Basically everywhere has student discounts, and they all add up. Most places are around 10% discount which is not a whole lot, but if you use them often they end up saving you so much money!
12. A good parking spot
All I can say is that if we get a good parking spot, it is going to be a good day.
13. "Free" laundry
Our parents might argue that doing laundry at home is not actually free because they are the ones who pay the water bill and buy the detergent/dryer sheets, but it beats paying $1.50 for wash and another $1.50 to dry.
