My friend and I were recently looking for a new show to watch on Netflix. When my friend saw that "13 Reasons Why" had just come out on Netflix, I didn't really think anything of it because I had never heard of it before. But she said that the book was very intriguing, so we decided to start the show together. Once we started, we were instantly hooked! In fact, we finished the 13 episodes in 3 days! But this show was so much more than just another Netflix series. There were so many important messages to take away that our generation often forgets, and that we need to be reminded of. So if you are looking for a new show to watch, here are 13 reasons why you should watch "13 Reasons Why:"

1. It does a good job of giving the perspective of all the characters, instead of just keeping it one-sided.

2. You can relate to most of the characters because everyone has similar personalities in high school as the people in this show.

3. There are many surprises, and nothing was ever too predictable.

4. It reminds you that the little things you say to people can matter, whether you think it does or not.

5. It emphasizes that you should never judge anyone too quickly because you never know what they are going through.

6. It does a great job of encompassing all emotions. You feel anger, sadness, happiness, nervousness, and everything in-between.

7. The themes of bullying, peer pressure, and mental health are all issues that need to be talked about and this show does a good job with shedding light on these hard topics.

8. Each episode focuses on a different character, so you are always finding out something new.

9. The show does a good job progressing from the little things to the major things, so it doesn't dive too deep too soon.

10. Every episode ends with a cliffhanger, including the season finale that still left you with intriguing questions about the future of the characters.

11. It sparks healthy debate amongst friends/peers because everyone who watches the show develops different opinions on each of the characters.

12. Some elements from the book are changed in the show, so even people who have read the book are still surprised by certain parts.

13. It does not sugar-coat suicide.

So if you are looking for an enticing show that will humble you and remind you of what is important in life while keeping you on your toes, watch 13 Reasons Why!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
