Everyone has one - a soul mate. Some of us even have multiple. Two of my soul mates are my adorable dogs, and here's why.

1. They're always there.

Literally. They follow me around as if I was their Mother Hen leading them off to the water. It's quite comical and reminds me of a baby always wanting attention.

2. They always listen.

Whenever I'm in a particularly bad mood, they are always there for me to vent to. Sure, they may not understand what I'm saying, but it's the thought that counts, right?

3. They like to snuggle.

Wherever I'm sitting, they are, too. Especially when no one else is home. Did I mention that they're warm, too?

4. They comfort me when I'm sad.

For some reason, they have this intuition and know when something is wrong with me. They then proceed to lay with me and kiss me until I feel better.

5. They're always excited to see me.

I could be gone for 15 minutes, and the minute I come back, they're all happy and jumping around as if I've been gone all day.

6. They love me.

I'm pretty sure that if my dogs were human, they'd take a bullet for me. Hell, they probably would as a dog, too.

7. They support me.

Well, at least as much as a dog can. I think.

8. They always hang out with me.

I can go out by the pool and swim, and they're right there swimming with me. It's great. Oh, and they always want to do something, so I'm never bored. (If you don't believe me, go back to the top of the article. Those are my dogs in the pool.)

9. I'd do anything to protect them.

If anyone tries to harm them in anyways, there will be hell to pay. (Hey, that rhymed.)

10. They don't judge me.

I can do anything around them, and they won't criticize me for what I'm doing. Therefore, I won't judge them when they pee in the house.

11. They don't talk bad about me.

I give them food, play with them, and rub them. I'm literally the perfect friend, so what is there to talk bad about?

12. They grow with me.

It's important that a relationship grows with time, and that is all they can do. Grow.

13. They will always have a place in my heart.

Even when they pass on from this life, I will always cherish our memories together. What more could I ask for?

And there you have it. My dogs mean the world to me, just like a soul mate should, and that is why they're mine.
