It seems that the uncharacteristic summer like weather is beginning to come to an end and the cool autumn air seems to be settling around us. However some people have been more than disappointed that the summer weather seems to finally be coming to an end, so let’s look at all the reasons people love fall.

1. Sweater/hoodie weather!

I adore how comfortable my long sleeve hoodies and sweatshirts are and they are so warm that I never want to take them off.

2. Hot tea is okay to drink again.

That’s right, fall is the season all tea lovers look forward too. We get to sip on our piping hot tea without judgement for it being too hot outside, because now the weather is just perfect and the tea will keep us warm.

3. Hot apple cider is back.

Unfortunately, not everyone is a tea drinker. But that’s okay! Because apple cider is back in season and you can just taste fall in this drink.

4. Pumpkin patches are back!

I remember going to a pumpkin patch with my older sister and grandparents every year when we were kids. We’d pick out pumpkins, get our faces painted, and so much more! It just doesn’t feel like fall without going to a pumpkin patch.

5. Speaking of pumpkin patches, let’s not forget the corn maze!

It’s harvest season and some farmers are kind enough to put off a full harvest and make a maze in their corn fields for people to attempt to navigate. And let’s be real who goes to a pumpkin patch without going through the corn maze?

6. Carving pumpkins.

This is the whole reason we went to the pumpkin patch in the first place! When we get home we get to scoop out the goop inside the pumpkin and separate all the seeds to dry out. We picked out a design and attempted to carve that design into our pumpkins. This was the most fun we could ever have as kids during fall.

7. We bake pumpkin seeds.

It’d be a shame to just throw out all those pumpkin seeds wouldn’t it? So, we let them dry out season them and bake them in an oven for everyone’s favorite fall snack!

8. It’s Halloween!

My friends would kill me if I didn’t mention Halloween, and they does have a point. Halloween is easily the best fall holiday. As kids we got to dress up as something scary or a character we loved and knock on people’s doors to get candy.

9. Books.

Curling up on the couch on a lazy fall day with a warm blanket, a hot cup of tea, and a good book. That sounds like a dream come true to me.

10. Pumpkin pie is back.

People who know me know I am not much of a dessert person, but I cannot get enough pumpkin pie!

11. Pumpkin spice is back as well.

All right, I will admit to my basic quality. I like pumpkin spice flavored beverages and when they come back in the fall, I celebrate internally.

12. Fall is beautiful.

All the different colors that the leaves are changing into are so gorgeous, I could stare at them forever.

13. We get to jump in the leaves!

If you tell me you don’t rake all the leaves into a giant pile just so that you can jump in them, then I will have to accuse you of lying. Jumping into a giant pile of leaves is one of the best part of fall! And let’s be honest, we’ve all done it.

Alright kids, let’s not be sad to see the end of summer; because now fall is here and we have all of these amazing things to look forward too.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
