A few weeks ago the mid-season finale of ‘Riverdale' aired, and my Barchie feels were through the roof. All fans of the show know that right now Archie and Veronica are together, and Betty and Jughead were together for a while. But this is just not how it should be. Betty and Archie are endgame.
1. Betty was the first person Archie told about his music.
All summer Archie had been working on music, where everyone only sees him as the football guy. But knowing he can tell Betty anything for help, she was the person he felt most comfortable talking about his love for music.
2. "Betty and Archie aren't dating, but they are endgame."
Kevin has known what's up since the beginning.
3. Archie was worried when she left the dance and went after her.
He had to make sure his ‘best friend' was okay, jokes on you Archie we all know she is more than just your best friend.
4. It's obvious how much they love each other.
Even if they only think they love each other as friends, it is clearly much more than that. Betty was the first person he called when his dad got shot, not his current girlfriend, Veronica, but Betty, the girl he actually loves.
5. Both of them have been jealous of each other's relationships.
When Jughead first talked to Archie about possibly having a moment with Betty, Archie tried to play it cool, but it was obvious he was jealous. Betty has always had a longing look for Archie, even when Veronica made sure it was okay with Betty for them to date.
6. They know each other more than they know themselves.
As we learned early in the first season, Betty literally tutored Archie in elementary school so they could stay in the same grade. From the start, Betty knew they needed each other.
7. "Ask me when we're 18 and I'll say yes."
After Betty saved Archie from failing, he kissed her and asked her to marry him. He knew since elementary school Betty was the one for him.
8. Betty is the actual girl next door.
They are literally next door neighbors. What girl hasn't dreamed of falling in love with the boy next door? They have lived their whole lives next to one another.
9. Archie is the most protective of Betty.
More than once Archie has shown how important Betty is to him, and far he is willing to go for her. Most recently in the mid-season finale, he was willing to die for Betty. He was going to let himself be buried alive to make sure Betty wouldn't be harmed.
10. Jughead is not good for Betty.
I can't say I don't love Jug because I do, I really do. But he lives a life so out of Betty's element that she has gone too far to try and change herself for him. Jughead is toxic. In the first season, Betty told Archie she feels the safest and most herself with him.
11. Archie and Veronica are purely physical.
Their relationship started with them having sex and has continued to be the main reason they are still together. Archie deserves more than that, and he wants more than that. Archie and Betty connect on an emotional level that Archie and Veronica don't.
12. The way they look at each other.
"Feelings that had long been buried shook loose. The boy looked out his window at the girl next door, as if for the very first time."
13. "But... A little part of me always thought..."
Archie was going to say that he always thought he and Betty would end up together, but Betty interrupted him because I don't think she was ready to hear it at the time.
