If you are like me you love Halloween! Every year around this time I begin to decorate my room and get into the spooky spirit of Halloween. One of the best and easiest ways to get into the Halloween spirit is to watch spooky movies, but what movies can you watch that aren't horror movies? Here is a list of 13 movies for Halloween lovers and horror movie haters.

1. Halloweentown (1998)

A staple of 90s childhood was the movie Halloweentown. A story of witches and wizards, it is rated TV-G and is available to stream on Amazon.

2. Hocus Pocus (1993)

Another staple of the 90s, is the classic Hocus Pocus. A movie of witches, cats, and broomsticks (Oh! My!). Perfect for all ages (though it scared me too much when I was little). It is rated PG available to stream on Amazon.

3. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

The Nightmare Before Christmas is the tale of a skeleton who desperately wants to bring people joy, but always ends up scaring them. This movie was a favorite of mine as a child and is rated PG, but Tim Burton's style is spooky (even for some adults). It is available to stream on Amazon.

4. Practical Magic (1998)

The story of two witchy sisters who are cursed to fall in love, only to have their partner die and untimely death. This movie is rated PG-13 and is available to stream on Netflix and Amazon.

5. The Corpse Bride (2005)

Another Tim Burton classic, The Corpse Bride tells the story of a young man who accidentally marries a corpse. This was another favorite of mine as a child and rated PG. It is available to stream on Netflix, and Amazon.

6. Caspar (1995)

A father and a daughter move into a large house that is unknowingly haunted, and befriend one of the ghosts Caspar. This movie is rated PG and is available to stream on Amazon.

7. Paranorman (2012)

Paranorman is the story of a young boy who is able to see and communicate with spirits. It is rated PG and is available to stream on Amazon.

8. Frankenweenie (2012)

This movie tells the story of a young boy named Victor who brings his dog back to life. It is rated PG and is available to stream on Amazon.

9. The Addams Family (1991)

When someone shows up one day claiming to be their cousin, the Addams family opens their doors to him, but he is just after their money. The movie is rated PG-13 and is available to stream on Netflix and Amazon.

10. Edward Scissorhands (1990)

This movie tells the story of Edward who is created by a scientist who dies before completing him, leaving him with scissors as hands. Edward is then taken in by a suburban family who attempts to teach him the ropes of society. It is rated PG-13 and is available to stream on Amazon.
