Happy finals week! Or happy summer if you're already done. Summer is many college student's favorite season, but there's just one problem- money. If you're anything like me, this new found freedom in college took a huge toll on your bank account and now you need some time to build it back up. Here are 13 fun (and cheap!) dates for you and your SO (or friend) for the summer.

1. Beach Trip

Depending on where you live, a day at the beach can be a fun, all-day date that everyone can enjoy. Bring your own snacks to avoid paying for over-priced food and soak up the sun!

2. Picnic

Grab a blanket, grab some sandwiches, grab your awesome summer playlist, maybe a frisbee or basketball, and head on over to your local park

3. Stargazing

This one's free! Lay out a blanket and get into some really deep talk about the universe.

4. Babysitting

If you both like kids, why not hang out with one for the day? You could even make money in the process!

5. Baseball Game

Don't bother paying for expensive professional tickets- check out if there is a local club team playing. All you need is a couple bucks for some hotdogs and you're all set.

6. Swimming

Find a pool and go for a swim. Splashing around and letting loose is a great way to become more comfortable learn to have fun with each other.

7. Go To An Animal Shelter

Who doesn't love animals? If there's not a shelter nearby then try a dog park or even PetSmart lets you pet the kitties.

8. Hiking

Get in some great exercise and take in the beautiful views.

9. At-Home Movie Night

Cook dinner instead of going to a restaurant, pop some popcorn, build a fort, and have a cute movie night.

10. Go to Ikea

Or any huge stores and try out all the furniture. Get some ideas for your future homes while you're at it!

11. Shopping

But don't buy anything. Try on all the clothes/shoes you wish you could afford and give the sales-people something to do during their shift.

12. Volunteer

Try a local retirement home and spend some time with the residents. They will love you and you get to hear some awesome stories.

13. Go To The Library

Point out some of your favorite books from when you were a kid and maybe find a book the two of you can read together.

If all else fails, take a clue from Troy and Gabriella.

Just kidding...that is, unfortunately, illegal to sneak onto a golf course.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
