13 Bible Verses When You're In The Need of Strength
Anna Talcott

Sometimes when life throws you a curve ball, it may create a whole new permanent or temporary normal in your life. That moment can trigger stress, anxiety and make you constantly wonder if you are alone. In fact those hard times simply have the potential to turn into lessons and motivation, making negativity into positivity in ones life. We have to experience the bad to appreciate the good that we were oblivious to in our life or the good moments we will experience. One thing that remains consistent in peoples lives, including mine, whether you are a believer or not is the presence of God and the faith you and I have or potentially could have in Him, He is always there for you and will be whenever you want to accept that. Personally, in rough times when I just need the strength to get through something I continue to pray to God and find these bible verses helpful when putting things in my life into perspective and helping others in a time of need.

“The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble.”

Nahum 1:7

“I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you.”

Joel 2:25

-God can restore what is broken and change it into something amazing. All you need is faith

“ For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. ”

Romans 8:18

-The pain that you’ve been feeling, can’t compare to the joy that’s coming

“ I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. ”

Psalm 16:8

- God is on your side so do not be shaken

“ Jesus answered him, 'What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.’ ”

John 13:7

- Everything happens for a reason and God does have a plan for you.

“ The Lord is my strength and my shield in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him. ”

Psalm 28-7

" Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you may go. ”

Joshua 1:9

“(26) Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, (27) and give no opportunity to the devil. (28) Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need. (29) let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.”

Ephesians 4:26-29

“ For it is you who light my lamp; the Lord my God lightens my darkness. ”

Psalm 18:28

“ And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. ”

1 Peter 5:10

“ The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. (11) I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for sheep.”

John 10:10-11

-His love gives life

“When you go through deep waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.”

Isaiah 43:2

“But the Lord is with me as a dead warrior….”

Jeremiah 20:11

- No matter the form of God he will fight with us through our personal strife.

“God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble.”

Psalm 46:1

These words have not been written and passed down just for reading pleasure, but are meant to be implemented in daily life. They are to remind you that God will be on your side regardless of how strong or weak your relationship with him is, or lack there of. These verses are to not only give reassurance of God's love, but to remind you of how much grace and beauty can come out of struggles and strife of life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
