As finals approach, more and more students will begin settling into different academic buildings across college campuses. As an environmental science major, I spend most of my time out of my room in the science building. Here are some of the types of students you find in the science building on a college campus.
1. The Science Major Who Never Leaves The Science Building
These are the type of students that you wouldn’t be surprised to find out that they keep a pillow and blanket in a corner somewhere.
A quote one might say: “I’ve been in this building since 12:30 pm and haven’t left yet… it’s almost midnight.”
2. The Education Major Who Just Wants A Quiet Place To Study
3. The Senior Who Has Given Up And Is Watching Netflix In The Corner
3. The Freshman Who Has Given Up And Is Watching Netflix In The Corner
The difference between the freshman and senior is that the freshman may still have some sort of guilt for not studying. While the senior has just accepted their inevitable grade.
5. Students Having A Mental Breakdown In The Corner
6. Students Having A Mental Breakdown In The Middle Of The Floor
Students lying down in the middle of the floor in the science building is totally acceptable during finals.
7. The freshman who has just discovered that the science building stays open at night and is intensely studying at a desk in one of the classrooms; taking up the entire classroom by themselves
8. The upperclassman who has their stuff set up at a table “just to save a seat” but is actually off at dinner and has no plans of returning soon
Upperclassmen know how rare finding a table to study is during finals.
9. Students accumulating coffee cups to prepare themselves for their future all-nighters
It's fine. Everything is fine....right?!
10. The student asleep on the couch at 3 pm
Drooling is inevitable
11. The student, locked out of his or her classroom, searching for a janitor
12. The student who hopes that if they stare long enough at their notes or textbook, they will learn the material.
No matter the kind of student you are, I wish you all the best with finals season!
