The holiday season is such a wonderful time of year, and we can't help but want to smile all the time.

Not everyone feels this way, however, which leads to the many kinds of people we see and meet.

1. Those who can quote Elf as if they starred in it.

Who doesn't love this film, though?

2. Those who ignore Thanksgiving and skip straight to Christmas.

Planning for holidays a little early never hurts.

3. Those who also attempt to ignore Halloween.

Is there such a thing as too early?

4. Those who really love to decorate.

This is a crucial part of the Christmas experience.

5. Those who work in retail.

If you've worked in retail around the holidays, you know you're one of these two–there's no in-between.

6. Those who involve their pets.

Do the animals actually like this? They look cute either way.

7. Those who are Christmas-loving imposters.

If this is you, it's probably because you work in retail.

8. Those who go all-out on Black Friday.

The sales are too good to pass up, which totally justifies all your purchases.

9. Those who don't want to waste any opportunities.

Once the Christmas season has arrived, there's not a moment to spare when it comes to finishing these activities.

10. Those who enforce the Christmas spirit.

This may be excessive, but it's important to spread holiday cheer.

11. Those who really just don't like Christmas.

Like the Grinch himself, maybe they'll have a change of heart.

12. Those who are Michael Scott when he couldn't be Santa.

If this is you, you're probably the modern, real-life Scrooge.

No matter which kind of person you are, we can all agree on one thing: There's nothing better than our favorite foods that only come out for the holidays.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
