Having a roommate is one of the most special parts of college. If you have a bad roommate, it builds character. But if you are lucky enough to have an amazing roommate, then you know these 12 things all too well...

1. You know exactly what kind of snacks she likes... and you buy them for her.

Whenever you are at the market you are sure to pick up your roommate's favorite snack, especially if she is having a bad day.

2. You know her closet better than she does.

Whenever the classic "I don't know what to wear" moment happens to her, you are there with perfect suggestions...without even having to look or think twice.

3. You know where each other is at every moment without having to ask.

You know her schedule just as well as you know yours. But somehow it's not creepy.

4. You have your own language.

You have inside jokes that no one else is able to understand. Bad days, good days and everything in between, you can sense the mood without having to ask a single question. You have developed a sort of telepathic communication; it must be in your dorm room's air!

5. You don’t even need to say “be honest."

Having a roommate that is a best friend means you can ask/say anything and it will immediately elicit an honest response: anything from if your paper is written well to if your makeup looks good.

6. You are constantly laughing while you’re together.

There is never a dull moment in the room. You are always talking, laughing and having a great time while simply sitting on your twin size dorm beds. The only time you aren't talking is while you're sleeping.

7. Most of your college stories involve her.

For the most part, when you say "this one time" your roommate makes an appearance in the story.

8. You talk every day during school breaks.

Although not having class is great, school breaks are the worst because you have developed separation anxiety from them. The only cure is talking constantly every day.

9. You get way too excited when you are both home at the same time.

It is a blessing when your class schedules line up and you have breaks at the same time. It means it is time to rant about annoying professors or to even nap in the same room. You have even planned your schedules to match up.

10. Getting ready for a night out is a party in itself.

Getting ready with your roommate can sometimes be even more fun than the frat party itself.

11. You stay up way too late talking about the most random things.

All of a sudden it is 3 a.m. on a Wednesday and you realize you've stayed up watching dog videos and discussing what type of pets you will have when you're older.

12. You can’t imagine having a different roommate.

College without her would not be the same, and you are thankful every day that your best friend is also your roommate.

Having your best friend also double as your roommate only adds to the picture-perfect college experience. It makes for more laughs and more memories. Hopefully, you'll get lucky like me and find your roommate soulmate!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
