If you've been able to call people your best friends for the past 15 years, then consider yourself very lucky. At the same time, you guys are stuck with each other now, there's no possible way out of your friendship. Here are 12 things you understand only if you've had the same best friends since you were young.

1. You had the honor of witnessing each other’s awkward phases.

Through the braces, acne, really questionable outfit choices, and even the one friend who cut their own bangs, you’ve been through it all together. You also have proof that it all happened.

2. They're some of the very few people who you can sit in silence with.

Cause sometimes "hanging out" means not speaking and just scrolling through your phone in the presence of them.

3. It’s impossible to hang out without sharing old embarrassing stories.

You can’t all get together without hearing, “Remember when…” or “Remember that time you…”

4. Not a week goes by without an “I miss you guys” text in the group chat.

But once that's said it goes straight back to the usual sarcasm and insults.

5. Growing up you were rarely seen without them.

You couldn’t go anywhere alone without getting asked where the other two were. I didn’t know it was my turn to watch them?

6. You could probably write a biography on their life.

You grew up side by side and know pretty much everything about them. The embarrassing times, their fifth-grade crushes, the one time they got yelled at for wearing makeup in middle school.

7. There are no boundaries.

You share any and everything that happens to you with absolutely no shame.

8. You all had weird nicknames for each other growing up.

…And sometimes you still use those names. Some things just stick, like nicknames and maybe weird songs you made up about Canada in the fifth grade?

9. Your family is their family.

When you're at their house you take "make yourself at home" to a whole new level.

10. You’ve been friends for so long you have your own traditions.

You don't even ask what you're doing when you all come home for breaks because you already know the answer.

11. You never fight.

You can list all of your fights on one hand and most of them were for dumb reasons. Remember the time I threw a shoe at you over that guy from Degrassi? Whoops.

12. You can envision yourselves as old ladies in 50 years.

Mainly because you know that you really will be “best friends forever.”

Love you weirdos.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
