Being a writer is a full-time career. Even when you aren't actually putting pen to paper, you're still writing. A writers' mind is always working subconsciously, silently piecing together gaps in language and plot. Have you ever caught yourself thinking your old English Teacher would make a good character in a novel? Have you ever written in a diary? Were you careful to make it special because one day it might be discovered and acclaimed as the jewel of your time?
If you have said or thought any of these things, there is a good chance your brain is wired to write, read, and teach.
1. “IT’S THEY’RE. NOT THERE OR THEIR.”
2. “You can change the meaning of any sentence with just a comma!”
3. “I’ve been working on this book for a few years now...”
4. “Can you read my manuscript?”
5. “Oh... you haven’t read the ending yet. Sorry!”
6. “What do you think the author wants you to know? What about the narrator? Does he know that he wants you to know that?”
7. “Am I misreading this or are there homosexual undertones here?”
8. “Oh, nothing. I was just mumbling to myself...”
9. “So that’s four pages... double-spaced? Please say double spaced.”
10. *Any title that is also a pun*
11. “So, I didn’t read and I know there is a quiz today so can you summarize the plot point for me in three minutes?”
12. “... no, I didn’t Spark Notes this."
