12 Things To Thank My Boyfriend For Because I Could Never Thank Him Enough
Gabriella Barcinas

People show that they love you in different ways depending on who they are as a person. I am lucky enough to have a boyfriend who shows me in every way possible that he loves me.

My boyfriend is not only my significant other but at the end of the day, he is also my best friend. He takes on both of these roles and does so much for me, not just because he loves me, but also because that is just the kind of guy he is. So, here is my thank you to the one who will do anything for me:

1. He gives me the last chicken tender

It is no secret that I LOVE chicken tenders and he knows that very well, so he always is sharing his with me or surprising me by getting me them (or fries) after my classes when he comes to pick me up.

2. He plays with my hair

I think a large majority of girls will agree with me when I say that having your hair being played with is the best feeling in the world! He will play with my hair while I am watching a movie or just when we are sitting down, which sometimes puts me to sleep. Even when he was just my best friend, before we started dating, he would brush my hair for me when I was upset because he knew that I liked it.

3. He accepts my obsession with aquatic animals

I told him all I wanted in life was to pet another stingray, and sure enough, he surprised me by taking me to not one, but two, aquariums over my spring break. He even made us a little picnic by the beach after it.

4. He does face masks with me

I am obsessed with facemasks and he is always willing to try them on with me whenever we just have chill movie nights. Sometimes he even gives me a foot massage while we do them.

5. He tries things that I like

He may not love scary movies or baby goats, but he still is willing to do things I like to do, even if it isn’t his favorite thing.

6. He gives me his shirt to wipe my tears on when I cry

As I mentioned before, he is also my best friend so he has seen me cry way too many times. Whenever I do, he takes his shirt off and gives it to me to wipe my face on, no matter how many times I tell him I don’t want to because it is gross.

7. He actually gives me feedback on outfits when I am shopping

From my experience, many guys will just be like, “oh yah that looks fine,” just so they can leave the store sooner when I have dragged them to the mall. He, on the other hand, actually gives me input and even choose my new favorite pair of jeans.

8. He is willing to take pictures with me

I love to take pictures to remember things and he is always willing to smile for the camera with me. He even is down for my ridiculous posses.

9. He brings me food

He always is surprising me with stuff whenever I get out of class or get back from my sorority chapter meetings.

10. He is a true gentleman

He shows up to pick me up sometimes with an umbrella that he carries over me when I walk to the car. He even lets me wear his shoes when my heels start to hurt and will walk back barefoot even if it is snowing and I protest against it.

11. He makes me feel beautiful

Even when I go to class after waking up late and rolling out of bed, he tells me I look pretty when I know I look like a homeless person. Whenever I try on a new dress and show him, he looks at me like one of those boys in teen movies who watch the girl come down in her prom dress with their eyes wide open.

12. He lets me take all of his clothes

At this point, half of my wardrobe is made up of his clothes, which he graciously lets me take on a daily basis.

So thank you for everything that you do for me and loving me.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
