One of my favorite quotes to live by:

"Be the Leslie Knope of whatever you do"
One of my favorite things about Leslie Knope was the fact that she always believed in herself. Knope is by no means selfish, but she knows that to get what you want, you need to be a little confident in yourself.

and I believe that there quite a few things we can learn from her, especially at the stage we are at in life.

1. Everyone can be a little over-organized...

Knope prides herself on her usage of binders, color-coating, schedules, step-by-step acronyms, you name it. She knows where everything is at all times, and it saves her a lot of time when emergencies arise.... But when it came to her house now that's a whole different story, that I personally can relate to.

2. Believing in Yourself.

One of my favorite things about Leslie Knope was the fact that she always believed in herself. Knope is by no means selfish, but she knows that to get what you want, you need to be a little confident in yourself.

3. Having a good comeback in the heat of the moment.

This one is pretty self-explanatory, sometimes it's fun to be witty and competitive.

4. Always believe in yourself.

I think this is very important because at the end of the day if you do not believe in yourself then why should everyone else!? And Leslie always knew what to say to herself in a time of need.

5. Giving your friends unique compliments.

From "you're a poetic, noble land-mermaid" to "you're a rainbow-infused space unicorn" seriously who wouldn't want to receive great compliments like this?!

6. It's okay to admit salad isn't really that delicious.

Sometimes we all need a cheat day... or a cheat week...

7. Remember what's really important in life.

It's okay to love your job and always want to excel in it but we should also never forget to live our life and what priorities are most important (like breakfast foods!)

8. It's okay to have a drink of two after a long day.

I love curling up with a nice glass of red wine and binge watching Netflix after a long and stressful day.

9. Wine is wine and we shouldn't discriminate

This kind of goes with #8... sometimes it's okay to be direct and honest and not care about how expensive your wine is.

10. How to be dramatic.

This is one of my favorite lines from Parks and Rec. Sometimes it's okay to be a little over-dramatic when your day really is "the absolute worst day of your life." ;-)

11. Being a fierce friend.

Let's be honest, we all want Leslie Knope to be our best friend and we should all take notes on how to be a great friend like her. She always cares, sometimes her fierceness can be a little overwhelming but one thing is for sure.. you can always rely on her.

12. Youths.... Let's face it we aren't in that "phase" anymore.

We're 23, we're in this weird in-between of graduating college, settling down, traveling, finding our career paths, etc... So we don't really understand the "youth culture" anymore and it's okay to admit that.

I think everyone should strive to be a little more like Leslie Knope; she's fun, fearless, nerdy, inspiring and always fought for what she wanted. There are lots of things we could learn from her. Like how to force unwanted hugs upon everyone.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
