Let me begin by saying that I am 20-years-old and I have never been in a "real" relationship. Most people think it is because I am too picky, but the reality of the situation is, I want to get things right the first time and it is important to me to find someone with the same values and morals as myself. I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

Of course, when a majority of your friends are in relationships and you are the single one, you get to endure the same questions and comments over and over again. Lucky you!

I don't mind being the single friend. In fact, I would prefer to be the single friend until the right, God-loving guy that I need comes along. Fortunately, I no longer receive the same questions and comments I did two years ago as the single friend, but trust me, at one point or another we have all been there. You know what I am talking about.

1. So, have you found a boyfriend since being off at college?

Negative, my friend. But thank you for asking... again.

2. You're just too picky.

OK, maybe it's just me but this isn't necessarily a bad thing. We shouldn't settle for something we know isn't right. So, major eye-roll at this statement every single time.

3. Oh, you have a new friend? So do you like him?

Yes. I like every single guy friend that I make. It is impossible to just have a guy that is a friend. Are you kidding me right now?!

4. Oh my gosh, so yesterday my boyfriend and I...

I know how it feels. We have to constantly listen to our friends talk about their boyfriends. Sorry, Helen, I don't really care about that one time your boyfriend held a baby.

5. Let me show you a picture of this guy I work with. You guys would have a lot in common.

The single friend has to constantly put up with people trying to set them up. Sorry, but I've got this.

6. Are you hiding him from us?

Ha ha ha, you're so funny. Why yes, I have indeed put in every bit of effort I have into hiding my boyfriend from you.

7. *Guy who you know says hey to you* OH MY GOSH, you like him, don't you?

What?! We know each other from like elementary school!

8. You are happier than usual today. It's a guy, isn't it?

Sorry, Tina, but no. My favorite band just released their new EP today.

9. Are you ever going to be in a relationship?

Yes! Whenever God sends the right guy and I'm ready! *screaming through tears*

10. *Volunteers you for everything because you're the single one*

OK, but how does this even make sense? Come on, you guys!

11. That guy is looking at you. At least look at him so that he knows you're interested, too.

But, I mean, I'm not interested in him?

12. My boyfriend and I are going to see a movie tonight. You can come too if you want!

At least we are all pro third-wheelers!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
