Whether it's been a week, a day or you're still in the car on your way back from school— you miss your friends. It's okay to admit it, we're all feeling the same way right now. How can we go from spending every waking moment with our people to none just like that? Summer vacation means warm weather and fun times, but it also means half of our life is MIA.

Unless you're lucky enough to live close to all of your school besties, then you're experiencing some serious signs that you already miss your friends IMMENSELY:

1. Your group chat is poppin'.

From paragraphs of venting to wondering if anyone else couldn't sleep at night and wanted to chat, it's rare to not have a notification from the squad.

2. Houseparty is taking up storage on your phone again.

The most irrelevant app has become one of your most used as the time spent away from school gets longer.

3. You explain to them every meal you ate that day.

They won't be able to join you for breakfast, lunch, and dinner so naturally, you have to give them full details of the eggs you made and the calories you saved during lunch to have enough room for ice cream after dinner.

4. You catch yourself staying up late to look through your camera roll of the past semester.

That old video you saved from Snapchat seems a lot funnier now than it did the morning after you discovered it.

5. Someone is constantly making "funny" fake plans.

The first few times you ask your group if they want to meet for dinner at seven it's funny, then it just becomes upsetting.

6. The group chat has a million conversations at once.

One friend just ran into an old boyfriend as another just got a new job. Both equally important, both must be talked about in full detail immediately.

7. Your finstas aren't as active... or funny.

Face it, we're just better when we're together. (It's just a lot easier to pressure each other to make bad decisions in person).

8. The group chat gets a play-by-play of your night as if they're physically with you.

"Wait he just walked in. Oh no sorry, that wasn't him, it's too dark in here... Ugh, I have to pee again, should I wait or just go?"

9. There are a lot more screenshots of people's Instagrams on your camera roll.

You didn't look as creepy when you were at school and just had to tilt your phone to show everyone what her outfit looked like the night before.

10. Tensions get high when your friend has their read receipts on but doesn't answer right away.

I don't understand... they read the messages a second ago. I saw the receipt go from delivered to read at 10:34 p.m., why don't I have just as many texts back yet?

11. One specific song plays and the memories come back.

Wonderwall vs. Tremor remix. Thank you and good night.

12. Most of your thoughts are kept in your head instead of said to out loud to your roommates.

Sometimes this could be for the better.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
