12 Reasons Why Being Sick At College Is The Worst, As Told By The Office

Getting sick in college is the worst thing in the world. Between classes, schoolwork, and your social life — you don't have time to nap, let alone get sick. And it isn't like getting sick in when you were younger, where your parents would take care of you, make you soup, rub your back and you would just spend all day watching movies. No, being sick in college is hard.

1. When you get the first signs of sickness and you have to start preparing immediately.

2. The pain and suffering hit, and you feel like you will never know happiness again.

3. You realize how much school work you have to do, but you can't move let alone write a paper.

4. All your friends decide to go out and party without you.

I'm not bitter, I swear.

5. You just want your mom. And your dog. And some chicken noodle soup.

6. You try to stay positive even though you feel awful.

7. You realize adulthood is hard. You're now the only person who will take care of you, and that is just too depressing to handle.

8. The idea of going to class makes you want to die.

9. And you can't remember the last time you left your dorm room.

10. You believe this might truly be the end. There is no way one person can experience this much pain and survive.

11. Then you finally get over your cold and can reenter the world.

12. But coming into contact with sick people is no longer an option because you cannot get sick again.

Stay away. Far away.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
