12 Reasons You Need A Puppy NOW
Cora Dawn

I had no intention of actually buying a puppy this year. I kept telling people how much I desperately wanted one, but I wasn't living a stable life. Newsflash, you will never be living a stable life. Things never just happen. You make them happen. All that's necessary for a new pup is lots of love, friends and family who will support you and a reliable source of income.

If you go to PAWS or the nearest animal rescue, take your wallet and proof of residency. Get ready to call up your landlord, because you won't be walking out without a leash in your hand.

Here's 12 reasons why you need a puppy in your life right now.

1. Puppies Make You Smile

How can you not?

2. Puppies Are Loyal

They will always have your back.

3. Puppies Are The Best Snugglers

It's a proven fact.

4. Puppies Teach You Responsibility

Your fun money for booze and eating out will turn into vet bills and chew toys.

5. Puppies Make You Exercise and Nap

Let's go for a walk Mom! An afternoon nap will ensue.

6. Puppies Are Healing For Broken Hearts

They have a way of reminding you that there's still laughter and fun left in the world even during the bad days.

7. Puppies Are Cheaper At A Rescue

I highly recommend adopting from a shelter before checking out a breeder. When you take home any dog from a rescue, you are saving their life and making room for another.

9. Puppies Don't Judge You When You Cry

They just listen and give you kisses.

10. Puppies Bring People Around

Everyone will want to smother your pup with love and attention. Your best friends, your neighbors, strangers on the street and even your boss will want to play with them.

11. Puppies Want You Around

Ingredients for a happy puppy is Food, Water and A Friend.

12. Puppies Love You Unconditionally

Free, genuine love.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
