1. Beauty isn't everything in life.

Despite what television and models have led us to believe, beauty is not everything in this world. More important are whats on the inside: the brain, the soul, and the heart. Cristina Yang set a prime example for people across America.

2. There is nothing in the world like a parent's love for you.

The people who raised you will always have the most love for you. Whether it's your parents, grandparents, or even your guardians, you can always count on them to be there with ever-lasting love.

3. Everybody needs to have a best friend.

To everyone out there struggling to get through the tougher times in your life, look to your best friend for the support you need. These are the people who will stick by your side for the rest of your life, always ready to drop everything they have to help you. They're "your person".

4. You have to fight for someone if you love them.

It may seem like common sense, but fighting for someone that you love is absolutely necessary at times. You have to show them how much you care and what they truly mean to you. Just look at Meredith and Derek and how they fought for each other across the years.

5. No, you can't and won't be happy ALL of the time.

Meredith taught us one of the more important lessons we can learn. It is impossible, and stupid, to think that we can be happy all of the time.

6. Sometimes, horrible people deserve forgiveness.

Even that one person who did the absolute worst to you, who you don't think you could ever forgive, may deserve compassion. Maybe not a second chance, but forgiveness at the very least. There is a difference.

7. More is just plain better sometimes.

Moderation is key? Nahh, sometimes its just better to have more. And according to Meredith Grey, it could be anything from tequila to love. More is just better.

8. Growing up is going to happen.

Father time can be a pain sometimes, but as much as we dislike it, growing up is inevitable. We are all going to graduate, get a job, and continue on. Growing up isn't scary, its just something that happens along the way.

9. Life can really suck at times.

People die, relationships end, shit happens. Life really sucks at times. As unfair as it may seem, it is all part of a bigger picture. All you have to do is stay on the path and all of the pieces of the puzzle will slid into place.

10. Don't lie. Just tell the truth.

C'mon. Really? This shouldn't even have to be on this list. It's common sense. Don't lie. Tell them the truth. I would rather have the worst truth imaginable than the best lie in the world. Honesty is absolute key.

11. Everyone, I mean EVERYONE, makes mistakes in life.

Nobody is perfect in this world. (No ladies, not even McDreamy) Keep in mind that everyone makes mistakes. Holding someone, even yourself, is merely a set-up for failure.

12. We always find our way back.

I firmly believe that if something is meant to happen, it will fall into place. If you fall out of line in your life, you will always make your way back to the beaten path. Keep the faith that everything will end as it should.

13. Love can make the biggest difference in your life.

Never doubt how important the love of someone special is in your life. You may fall in love several times throughout the course of it all, or maybe just once. Never take that for granted, because the someone you truly love is not something easy to replace. It makes the world of difference. When you find it, make it yours.

14. Put it all out on the table.

Don't hold back. It may be the most terrifying thing in the world, but put yourself out there. Even something such as asking that beautiful girl on campus to hang out, you have to put yourself out there. Sometimes you'll get knocked down, yeah. You just get back up. Because wondering "what if..." is the worst thing imaginable.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.
