THANKSGIVING IS HERE!!! Y'all! You have no idea how excited I am about all this food! I'm about to bask in the carbs and just go for it! The only thing that gets stressful about Thanksgiving is figuring out what you are bringing to dinner! I'll just be real here, I can't cook a turkey. I leave that to the real grown ups. However, I am expected to bring a side or two and I think I can handle that. If you are in a bind, as I always am, on what you are bringing to dinner, I've got you covered! Here is a list of 12 dishes (and drinks) you can bring for Thanksgiving Dinner! (That your grandma will be impressed with!)
1. Brown Butter Garlic Honey Roasted Carrots
Disclaimer for the not-cooks: Brown butter is literally just butter that has been melted in a pan until it forms a golden brown foam on top. It sounds so fancy, doesn't it? The good news is that it isn't! This dish only has four ingredients, and takes around 30-45 minutes. So easy!
2. Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus
Ingredient list? Asparagus and Prosciutto. The end. This is so easy, with only ten minutes for prep, and like 15 minutes cook time! My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
3. Spinach and Artichoke Stuffed Mushrooms
I am drooling! How beautiful is all this cheese?? Pro tip: keep these stuffed mushrooms from sliding all over the place on the way to dinner by transporting them in a deviled egg plate and then re plating them once you get there! Genius.
4. Thanksgiving Punch
I loooove apple cider! And this one can be served cold, room temperature, or warm! It looks so good! This would be perfect for a dessert drink to settle the turkey. And I'm sure it would be just as good with a little bit of Crown Royal Apple added in!
5. Creamy Garlic Parmesan Mushrooms
Can you tell that mushrooms are one of my absolute favorites?? I feel like these are more of a side dish instead of an appetizer. And they only take TEN MINUTES to make! You can't get any better than that!
6. Parmesan Crusted Zucchini
Step one is to find zucchini in November. But I live in the south, so I'm still getting all sorts of vegetables out of the garden! I made these for Easter like three years ago, and I'm hoping that my mom doesn't remember... because they might be making an appearance again on Thursday.
7. Cranberry Apple Sangria
I don't know about you, but I believe the drinks should be as good as the food. This one is sure to make the list! And it's a sangria so it is definitely acceptable to start sipping during the (end?) of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! As long as you don't have to drive anywhere, drink up!
8. Loaded Potato Casserole
Potatoes? Cheese? Bacon? Yes please!! This casserole will be a hit! Make ya grandma proud!
9. Easy Cheesy Pull Apart Rolls
These are made from Pillsbury Grands Biscuits, cheese, butter, parsley... So pretty much all the good stuff. They're also like 20 minutes from start to finish, so you can throw it together super last minute if you need to!
10. Green Bean Casserole
Go back to tradition with an amazing green bean casserole. You literally can't go wrong! This one used fresh green beans, which sound like a ton of work, but I'm sure it is 100% worth it! This is the green bean casserole your great grandma used to make every holiday!
11. Deviled Eggs
They're so easy, so delicious, and so going to be gone before anyone gets seconds. Deviled eggs are a staple at all family events. Sunday lunch? Deviled eggs. Super Bowl? Deviled eggs. You can never go wrong with deviled eggs. But make sure you fill them with a pastry bag. They look so much prettier! And your sassy cousin won't be able to say anything snarky.
12. Rice Krispie Turkey Legs
Surprise them all with your creativity! And also have a blast watching their reactions when you open the dish of https://kitchenfunwithmy3sons.com/rice-krispies-turkey-legs/these! I love Rice Krispies so much, these just make sense!
Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy the food, the drinks, and the questions about when you're going to have babies!
