Now that it is officially the season of Fall I figured I would share with you some Fall activities to help you make the most of it. Winter will be here before we know it, so it's best to take advantage of Fall and the fun things you can do while you can.

I may not be the biggest fan of Fall, but I have to admit that I do enjoy the things you can do this time of year. Whether I'm with friends, family, or taking some kids out for the day, there is always something to do.

So here are a few ideas to help get you out this season:

1. Apple Picking

Obviously, I have to include this classic. Apple picking is always fun, and the baking you can do with the apples after is a real treat!

2. Baking

Apple pie, apple crisp, pumpkin anything, cookies, etc. Fall desserts are always a win.

3. Hiking

The weather is cool, the leaves are colorful, why not get out and see it?

4. Leaf Pile

I don't care that I'm an adult, show me a pile of leaves and I'm jumping in.

5. Pumpkins

Carving pumpkins is a must, or even painting them. Plus, pumpkin seeds are amazing.

6. Halloween

Despite not going trick-or-treating anymore, I still like Halloween. I still dress up, and the kids at my daycare love it. Did I mention Halloween candy?

7. Oktoberfest

I've never been legally able to drink, but now that I can I might enjoy some beers.

8. Crafts

There are tons of different fall craft ideas that you can do either on your own or with kids.

9. Take a Drive

Fall is a beautiful season, especially here in Maine. It's nice to take the time to drive the back roads and look at the changing leaves.

10. Fall Festival

I have not been to one yet, but I'm sure they're fun. Adding to the bucket list!

11. Treats

Apple cider, caramel apples, and so many other goodies you can make or enjoy. Remember when I mentioned pumpkin anything?

12. Hayride

I find these very relaxing and a great way to see some Fall foliage.

The ideas are endless. Fall is the perfect time to get out and do something fun. In addition to the classic things you can do, the Halloween and Thanksgiving holidays are bonus of fun and activities (ie; haunted houses, Halloween parties, anything turkey related, etc.).

What do you like to do in Autumn? I'd love to hear some more ideas I can do this year.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
