11 Texts We Send Mom On The First Week Of Classes

As most people would know on their first-ever week of college classes, there would be moments when you want to text people about either your day or the most random things. I've been texting my mom a lot during this week and can I just say that I definitely miss her a lot.

Between texting and calling her about my day, I've had some moments through text that make me either laugh out loud or want to cry. Here are a couple of texts throughout the past two weeks (because I moved in early to do college marching band camp) that happened between me and my mom.

1. Coffee.

My coffee order was not always the greatest until I finally was satisfied with my order and decided to tell my mom. Of course it took me a week to figure it out.

2. When Taylor Swift announced a new album...

I got so excited that Taylor was coming out with a new album!! Then mom of course is still upset that Kyrie Irving got traded. That text will come up later.

3. I needed coffee...

4. Kyrie Irving and Christmas Story.

When Kyrie Irving got traded to the Boston Celtics, I was a bit upset but throughout the week I would see a text from mom saying "KYRIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEE" and I would just laugh out loud. Also it would be the... third time I see "A Christmas Story"? I don't know.

4. I won a raffle!

I never win anything in a raffle so this was an accomplishment to check off my list of things I need to do. Mom had a good reaction.

5. More Kyrie Irving.

Pretty explainable.

6. Throwing it back to if I remember freshman year of high school.

This is because my brother is starting high school in a couple of days and mom was wondering if I remembered the times of when I would go to school. I just knew that when I drove to school I would leave the house at 7:30 a.m.

7. Solar Eclipse day!

Yeah, don't be like me in this situation. I was dumb.

8. The Almighty Garlic Doggo.

I still love this picture to this day. No shame.

9. Punchbuggy.

There's a lot of bugs in Bowling Green so if I find one I would try and see if I can get a quick picture and send it to mom. It's a fun time for me, haha.

10. Many updates on Big Brother.

Yeah, watching Big Brother during the summer is a tradition with mom and I so moving to college was hard. I would normally not watch the live evictions or other competitions (I follow some live feeds twitter accounts) so mom is my source of information. Let's be real, change of topic, I don't want Paul to win but that's for another day.

11. I miss my dog still.

I will never not stop watching this video. Thank you a lot for this mom.

I love you, mom, and I miss you so much!!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
