11 Ways You Can Relieve Stress Right Now

It happens to all of us. It's that time of year when you can catch the Winter Blues. Maybe your course load is starting to pile up or you just haven't had any time for yourself. Here are some things you can do right now to keep the blues at bay:

1. Look away from your electronics

Sometimes your biggest stressor is right in front of you. Maybe you’re waiting for a text message or you’re writing a paper. Either way, step away from the screen for a few minutes.

2. Count to ten

Breathe. Count to 10. It might not sound like much, but sometimes just putting yourself in time out can give you a chance to clear your head.

3. Go for a walk

Get out and get some fresh air. Walk around, take in the scenery, and get your mind off of anything you have going on.

4. Cry, it’s okay

This might be difficult for some, but crying is not a sign of weakness. It’s better to get your emotions out then to bottle them up.

5. Cook for yourself

It doesn’t have to be a gourmet meal, but cooking can be extremely therapeutic for the run-down mind.

6. Play your favorite song

Because no one can be sad listening to Uptown Funk.

7. Drink something warm

Warm up your body and your soul with some hot chocolate, treat yoself.

8. Don’t overthink

This is a killer. Stop overthinking and just go with the flow.

9. Draw

Doodle. Get creative.

10. Let out a good scream

Shout it out! (Just make sure your roommate isn’t home)

11. Above all, remember that you are loved

Call someone you’re close with. They’ll remind you that you’re important.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
