Taking a class in college is much different than taking a class in high school, especially when you attend a large university. You walk in on the first day never knowing if you are going to spot someone familiar. But not to worry, you will find that one person who will save you from having to survive the semester alone. Here are 11 ways to know you've found this person.
1. You always sit next to each other.
How else are you supposed to slyly make comments about what is going on in the classroom if you are not sitting right next to one another?
2. You make endless comments about that one guy/girl in your class who just won't shut up.
Seriously...he/he won't stop running their mouth. It seems like it's always moving and ready to say the next dumb or insulting thing that comes to mind.
3. You cannot help but laugh at something your professor did or said.
Sometimes your professor tries to connect with his younger students and it just does not pan out the way they planned.
4. You have tons of inside jokes.
Literally tons. They're all stemming from the ridiculousness that is class. Even when you're not in class, you text each other about what people have said in your class's group me.
5. They're there to vent about your day.
Even though they don't know everything about your life, you can vent to each other about everything that has gone wrong throughout the day and about everything that has pissed you off.
6. You share a mutual love or hatred for something.
You could both share a love for the same sports team or that one really cool athlete in your class. Or you both share a hatred for that one girl in your class that's always complaining about her boyfriend.
7. You know what they like and dislike.
You know what favorite animal or joke cheers them up and most importantly you know the topics and individuals that really grind their gears.
8. You share notes and study together.
Whether it be the other missed class or they zoned out for a second, your friend is there to help you with what you missed. And vice versa. You do everything in your power to make sure the other doesn't fail or fall behind. You share study cards and quiz each other to pass the upcoming test. Because 9/10 times they force you to start studying early and not just the day before.
9. You try to do every assignment together.
Even if the professor says it's an independent assignment you figure out a way to still work on it together. You're each other's validation to ensure that you are doing the assignment correctly. No one wants to hand in garbage.
10. You freak out if the other isn't in class.
What did you do to deserve having to sit through class alone?! How dare they leave you alone to suffer.
11. You're there for each other.
Even though they may not be your best friend from back home, they get you through what could be a miserable class experience. They may not be your forever best friend, but they are your class best friend.
