11 Ways Shonda Rhimes Personally Victimizes Her Viewers
Hollywood Reporter

Shona Rhimes is a well known tv writer and producer. She has created three very popular shows: "Grey's Anatomy," "Scandal," and "How to Get Away with Murder." These shows are some of the most popular shows on TV. I only watch two of these shows, however she can make her viewers feel personally victimized when it comes to character deaths or accident scenes. She also always manages to get your heart racing when it comes to certain characters. Her speciality is to keep her viewers on the edge of their seats during that particular hour.

1. McDreamy's Death

When Derek Shepard (Patrick Dempsey) was killed at the end of season 11 of "Grey's Anatomy," everyone was left speechless and in shock. No one knew how Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) was going to go on without Derek. Many people referred to their relationship as relationship goals. Let's be real though it really was relationship goals. They had been through too much for him not to survive. When Meredith had to decide to pull life support, I remember just being a blubbering mess. This episode was one of the most intense episodes ever. No one knew what to expect after that. Thank god there were a few more episodes left in the season so we could see how Meredith would cope with it.

2. Olivia and Fitz

Their relationship on "Scandal" is one of the craziest TV relationships around. You never know when they are on or off. Even when they are off, you can feel the pent up tension surrounding their relationship. This tension makes for a lot of awkward encounters. Every single time you think they are in a good spot something has to go and ruin it for them. This relationship all started when Fitzgerald Grant III (Tony Goldwyn) ran for his first presidential term.

3. The Plane Crash

Talk about one of the most heart wrenching and intense few episodes of "Grey's Anatomy." This series episodes at the end of season 8 and beginning of se

ason 9 left viewers on the edge of their seats for awhile. These episodes caused some major heartache among fans. Two major characters were lost in the plane crash and the doctor's lives changed forever. Watching Lexie Grey (Chyler Leigh) lay under a part of the plane that had basically crushed her and eventually killed her was awful and having to watch Mark Sloan (Eric Dane) die shortly after that was awful. We also saw Derek almost have to stop being a surgeon and Arizona lost her leg.

4. The Shooting

The two episode around the shooting at Seattle Mercy West Hospital in "Grey's Anatomy" were probably the two most intense episodes in "Grey's Anatomy" history. So many people died in these two episodes. We saw so many doctors also fighting for their lives in these episodes. How can we forget Derek getting shot. I will always remember how Dr. Yang (Sandra Oh) saved Derek's life. So many people were victimized by this shooting.

5. Olivia's Kidnapping

When Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) was kidnapped so many people did not know what was going to happen to her or the President or even Jake. These few episodes were some of the most intense among "Scandal"episodes. Olivia was sold on the dark net and Fitz had to go to war in Angola to save the love of his life. Fitz also set up a special team to try and save Olivia. This team was headed by Olivia's then boyfriend Jake Ballard (Pete Harris). Everyone was curious to see if Olivia would survive.

6. Callie and Arizona's Car Accident

The two episodes that the car accident took place were the first musical episodes of "Grey's Anatomy." Quite a few of the actors on "Grey's Anatomy"

have made appearances on Broadway. The cast did their own rendition of "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol. This song happens to be a big hit on the show. It gets played anything dramatic happens, especially when someone dies. Having to watch Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) fight for her life after she went through the windshield of her and Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) car. Not only did Callie go through a windshield, she was also like seven months pregnant, so that played a factor into the car accident as well.

7. Annalise Getting Shot

I do not know much about "How to Get Away with Murder,"

but I do know that Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) got shot and it was a crazy season to figure out who shot her. It took all season to find out who the culprit was, but they were finally identified. Seeing scenes of the show and seeing Annalise fighting for her life was intense.

8. Fitz's Son Dying

As election day for Fitz's second term as president nears, the first family is shocked when their eldest son is murdered by one of their own secret service agents. This agent was under a direct order from Command which was in charge of a secret spy agency known as B-613. This episode was a sad episode because a child lost his life.

9. Denny Duquette's Death

Denny Duquette's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) death is one of the most iconic deaths in "Grey's Anatomy"history. No one will ever forget Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl) bawling her eyes out after Denny died. Plus, how can we forget that this was on the same night as the hospital's prom? Thank goodness all of her friends were able to rally around her and support her during this difficult time.

10. George O'Malley's Death

George O'Malley's (T. R. Knight) death was also a very iconic death in "Grey's Anatomy." I believe his death shocked everyone. No one will forget how we made it known that it was him in ICU after getting hit by a bus. The way that he signed 007 onto Meredith's hand was crazy. No one will forget how after he died and the elevator opened with him in his military uniform. Most people thought that elevator would open up to Izzie, but it opened to him instead.

11. The Ferry Boat Incident

The ferry boat accident in season 3 gave everyone chills. Viewers had to watch as Meredith fought for her life after nearly drowning and how all the doctors were busy doing things they had never done before while dealing with the news of Meredith almost drowning. If it was not for Derek, Meredith would have died there and then.

Shonda Rhimes knows what she is doing when it comes to her shows. These shows are here children and she definitely knows how to make her viewers come back every week to keep watching.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
