If you are in a sorority, you have chapter meetings. I love chapter meetings and I look forward to them, but I am sure we are all thinking the same sorts of things when we are sitting through one. Chapter meetings are full of useful information, but sometimes we end up drifting off into la la land and we begin thinking about these sorts of things...

1. I have so much homework after this.

Seriously....I swear I think I have a test Wednesday? A report due Friday?

2. What am I going to wear to our next event?

This is a serious catastrophe. What am I going to wear?

3. Oh, I meant to do snaps, not claps...

I need to get this in my head. I start to clap, and then immediately snap. It's like I'm doing a clap-snap thing and it's awkward.

4. Are we going to snap after she speaks?

I swear. At least 2 people start snapping and that's it. Do I need to?

5. Is anyone getting food after this?

I am starving... I wonder if I'm the only one...

6. I still don't know some of these people..

I promise I know your name... give me an hour....

7. After putting everything into my planner.....

And I am not even in nursing school yet.

8. I cannot wait to hang out with my sisters!

I love being able to hang out with my sisters after meetings. I get to meet more people and get to know more about everyone.

9. I need to get comfortable, but I don't want to draw attention...

Everyone always looks at the girl that moves around a lot.

10. You always want to make funny comments, but you aren't sure if it's a good time for that or not...

I'm afraid if I were to make a funny comment that everyone would either look at me like "shut up" or everyone starts laughing and talking and the president is gonna be like "y'all shut up".

11. You're excited for the next event coming up!

Let's get these days over with already!!!!! I AM READY FOR THE NEXT DATE PARTY!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
