Every person who has ever lived in a small town, knows that all small towns have their quirks. Small towns have their tales and they all have things they know to be true if and only if you're from that small town. So here are 11 things you know to be true if you're from small town Fairfax, Vermont.

1. When the country pantry gets re-possessed AGAIN, are we really that surprised?

It seems like that place is always going in and out of business.

2. When we see two (who shall not be named) people on the faculty who worked together finally tie the knot, all our childlike dreams come true.

If you know who I'm talking about, you have to admit, you shipped that couple as much as I did.

3. I still stomp my foot during that one moment in the national anthem towards the end.

Like we did at basketball and football games, I still keep doing it.

4. Unless you went to Castleton, it's going to be harder to stay in touch.

It's going to be a while before any of us see each other again, stay in contact kids.

5. On black Friday, the fair, or Burlington fireworks, we all know we're going to run into each other.

Those kinds of events, everyone is bound to run into each other, so pick your events wisely if you're not looking for a blast from the past.

6. We will always be connected by the people we knew.

When someone passes away from our town or has passed away, we all share a common bond, and that's something we will always all be connected by.

7. Whenever I play something like volleyball, or tennis, I, and we will all have those memories of Murray.

Ihe old gym teacher, consistently joking with us, or in my case telling me to share the ball and stop being so aggressive. All those pre-warm up runs we would all not really worked at. I don't think anyone who came in contact with Murray will ever forget him.

8. Nobody had better more friendly fun janitors than Fairfax.

It's not coming to me right now, but maybe you'll remember, we always had that one janitor that was always nice, and I don't think anybody will ever forget him.

9. When someone from the faculty leaves, it's going to sting a little bit.

When Karen, who worked in the guidance office left BFA, it was bittersweet for all of us.

10. Basketball games aren't the same in college as they were at BFA.

Yeah we all have our crazy fans, but nothing will be the same as seeing the Elmo looking costume, and doing the roller coaster, and reading newspapers during opening announcements of the other team, or dancing to Sandstorm during intermission.

11. No ski teacher, or English teacher, will ever compare to Hebert and Fred.

Whether you had both, or just one, no ones dry humor like Hebert is going to compare, and no ones anything, whether it be throwing a ski pole at you, or screaming (in good manner of course), is going to compare to the legendary Fred. (Couldn't quite find the right pictures to represents these two legends).

It's been a while, so I'm sure there are a lot more memories and things that only we know if you're from Fairfax, Vermont. For now, keep in touch with your classmates, say hi to an old friend, and be thankful for the small gift from Fairfax we were all given.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
