What's worst than being bored on Christmas break? Not much. I always find myself trapped in my room with nothing to do, but really there is a lot to do. Take advantage of your time at home. Going to college so far from home makes me appreciate the little things and spending time with friends and family. Try doing some of these things to cure your boredom while at home this holiday season:

1. Ice Skate

This doesn't mean you have to travel to New York to go to the Rockefeller Plaza rink (although that would be so cool). Find your nearest ice skating rink or even make your own if you live in cold temperatures like me! This can be such a fun way to get out of the house and enjoy time with friends or family.

2. Movie Marathons

25 days of Christmas on freeform, Hallmark movies, Harry Potter marathons, the options are endless!

3. Make Time for Family and Friends

What better way to cure boredom than to spend it with people you haven’t seen in months. Catch up with friends, share stories, and enjoy the time you have together while it lasts!

4. If You’re Like Me and Live in a Place With Snow, Go Sledding or Skiing!

5. Go Gift Shopping

Shopping can be a great way to get out of the house too. Get creative and shop for family members, friends, or even that special someone!

6. Cook Something New

Watch tasty videos and try to recreate those holidays desserts or dishes that you can share with everyone.

7. Redecorate Your Room

Even if its just moving furniture around, this can take time up and leave you with a new way to enjoy your room. Find small things around the house or shopping to add more of a Christmas feel to your room like string lights, cute pillows, or Santa statues!

8. Catch Up On Sleep

In college, sleep is optional. Take advantage of your own bed and space when you’re home.

9. Help Your Parents

Help around the house with small things, help with Christmas decorations or just hang out with them; they’ve missed you…trust me!

10. Exercise

Walk your dog, go to the gym, or get your steps in walking around the house! This will boost your mood and you get some fresh air at the same time!

11. RELAX!

Christmas break has its name for a reason…it's a break. Take time for yourself and relax.

Happy Holidays!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
