If you asked me to describe myself, I would probably list off a number of personality traits: outgoing, driven, creative. But more importantly, there's one phrase that defines a large part of who I am. Big sister. My role as oldest child has been one I have always been so excited to have. Little brother, you have changed my life. Here are things I need you to know.
1. You make me laugh.
Your stupid jokes, the YouTube videos you force me to watch, and the funny faces you make, all have the same end result: me telling you that you aren't funny, all the while I am cracking up on the inside.
2. Be yourself.
No matter what anyone says, you are one of the best people I know, and so worth being. Don't change for anyone or anything.
3. You are so smart.
You have always amazed me with how wickedly smart you are. Use that to your advantage. On that note...
4. Work hard and you can accomplish anything.
I believe in you. I know you can do anything you set your mind to.
5. You are going to do amazing things.
I have never doubted that.
6. I want you to be the type of person that stands up for other people.
And I know you already are.
7. I have loved watching you grow up.
And I've loved growing up along side of you, myself.
8. I hope you surround yourself with friends who deserve you.
I might be biased, but I think you're pretty awesome, and you need friends who see that in you.
9. I will always have your back.
Because I know that if I needed it, you would have mine.
10. I miss you all the time.
Leaving my house to go to college was hard. Leaving you and the rest of our family was even harder.
11. I love you, even when I don't like you.
You bug me sometimes; it's your job as my little brother. But I love you always.
