Having anxiety and/or depression can be really hard on a person. Believe me I know.

Everybody always talks about what you should do if you are having “one of those days”. Here is a list of what I believe everybody should do if they are having “one of those days” that everybody always talks about

1. Take a walk.

2. Excercise (Exercising and taking a walk are different).

3. Listen to music.

4. Call a friend.

5. Talk to a friend in person.

6. Re-arrange your living room.

7. Go out to eat at your favorite restaurant.

8. Don't let anybody tell you to “calm down” if you don't feel ready yet.

9. Watch Netflix.

10. Take Medicne.

Do not let anybody tell you that taking pills is stupid and they do not help. If you feel you need them for help, then take them. There is nothing to be ashamed of with medication because sometimes just taking a walk or talking to someone will not help.

The most important advice that I can ever give to a person who is dealing with anxiety and depression is to not let anybody get into your head. I know that is easier said than done. Many times, people will think that they are helping you by saying “calm down” or something along that lines because they do not actually understand that it is not easy to "just calm down".

If doing these things doesn’t help at all, get help. People are always afraid to go seek professional help because they don’t want their family or friends to find out. If your friends or family want to judge you because you are trying to get help, then that is their problem and not yours.

Stay Strong.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
