You guys know what i'm talking about.

1. Where did you go to high school?

Anyone from St. Louis knows that the very first question someone will ask you is, "Where did you go to high school?" It's basically a second nature to ask. Whether it was one of 40 private high schools or 65 public schools, your high school will always hold a special place in your heart.

2. You hate all things Chicago... Besides Chicago.

Black Hawks? Bears? Cubs? If you're from STL, you don't like anything sports related with Chicago, but you do love the city that all these putrid teams reside in. It's okay if you want to strut down the magnificent mile in your St. Louis gear, you'll receive looks, but do it with St. Louis pride.

3. You HATE when people call it "Panera".

It's St. Louis Bread Co. or Bread Co, not this fancy name "Panera".

4. You have to explain T-Ravs to almost all of your non St. Louis friends.

No, it's not fried ravioli its toasted ravs... This is a St. Louis staple, and chances are you have to explain this wonder to someone, same thing goes for square sliced pizza.

5. Nelly, Huey, and J-Kwon

Huey and J-Kwon have some of the best hip-hop one hit wonders out there, and then there is Nelly with loads of hits. Anytime one of these rappers come on, you always scream "THEY ARE FROM STL" "I"M FROM THERE"

6. "Hey look, there is the Arch!"

When you're down town you never fail to act like you've never seen the Arch before, and chances are you snapchat it coming and going from our amazing city.

7. We don't pronounce the letter "O" like the rest of the US.

Its mawm instead of mom, fawrk instead of fork, and faurty faur instead of forty-four. You may not notice it, but as soon as you go out of town people will say you talk funny.

8. You're an automatic sports fan.

You can "hate" sports, but you are always down to go to a Cards or Blues Game.

9. Halloween is not about trick-or-treat...

Yes, we might say this but as soon as that door opens you'll hear "No candy until you tell me a joke. You got a joke for me?"

10. Ope

"Ope, let me just sneak past ya and get that ranch real quick".

11. Nothing but LOVE for your city.

No matter where you are, you'll miss St. Louis. Once you move away you'll realize how much you do love this gem of a city.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
