I cut off about 12 inches of hair today and it felt amazing*. Here are some other truly amazing experiences that just weren’t/aren’t as emotionally, physically, and spiritually fulfilling as paying someone to cut off a full ponytail of my hair.
*I want to stress that this was my own hair.
1. Eating a popsicle on a hot summer day
Still doesn't compare to this hair, with or without dogs.
2. Pistachios that are just barely closed so they open easily
Yep, just like that. But it's not as good as this haircut.
3. The time a customer came into my work with a baby micro pig in her arms
I didn't cry, but my coworker almost did. Also not as good as this haircut.
4. Buying something cute on a huge sale
It's even cuter because I have to surrender less money, but surrendering a ponytail of hair is even better!
5. Taking that first sip of tea that is neither too hot nor too tepid
Good thing hair grows back way slower than tea takes to cool.
6. The day I figured out how to finally do my eyeliner right
I'll admit this goal keeps moving and getting my eyeliner right can top even a birthday, but I'm still even more jazzed about cutting all that hair off.
7. Moving into my first apartment
Living on your own is cool and all, but cutting your hair doesn't involve scary bills that show up every month.
8. Making chocolate chip cookies on a whim
Nothing like fresh cookies at midnight just for fun, except cutting off a ponytail of hair.
9. Graduating high school
Actually not that great (far too loud) but regardless, this haircut beats it.
10. Making a baby smile
This does cause my great joy, but I know deep down that babies smile at a lot of dumb things. I bet babies will probably like my haircut, though.
11. Receiving a package in the mail
I love getting packages. I f**king love it. But cutting off a thick ponytail of hair was like getting a package every day for a week.
Until your next package or haircut, have a joyful day.
