We all have those foods we can't stand. We all have those foods we can't live without. But sometimes, people can't stand more foods than they can. I like the flavor of peanut butter but I can't stand the texture of it. I don't like bananas and I can't stand olives. And I always come across friends or family that seem to like nothing on a menu when we go to a restaurant. Here are the telltale signs that those people are the pickiest eaters around:

1. They always order the same thing

Whether they are at an American, Italian or seafood restaurant, picky eaters will always order the same thing. For some reason, it's usually a Caesar salad.

2. They make generalizations

If a picky eater was asked, "do you like Indian food?" their response would most likely be "I don't like spicy food," or something along those lines. Clearly, not all Indian food has to be spicy, but the picky eater will make those conclusions.

3. They're very specific

They might love pasta but hate tomato sauce, love raw sushi but hate cooked fish. Their favorite food might be pizza but they must eat it with parmesan cheese and garlic on top. They are always the ones at the restaurant reinventing the menu. They'll order a turkey sandwich without the turkey, a house salad with all their own ingredients. It's a pain to eat with them, but you'll get used to it.

4. "I don't like chocolate"

They won't like the foods that everyone and their mother could eat. For example, chocolate, pasta, fruit, pizza. Telling someone you don't like these foods, especially to someone that lives for them is definitely one of the most shocking and awfully tragic discoveries.

5. The kid's menu is for everyone

They'll be at a fancy Italian restaurant and order mac and cheese or chicken nuggets off the kid's menu.

6. They change their minds too often

They'll tell the waiter exactly what they want, but when they get the food, they won't want it anymore. Either the meat isn't cooked right, the salad dressing tastes bad, or the bread is too crispy. They'll usually just sit there, take a few bites and proceed to stare at their full plate with misery. But lucky for us foodies, we'll have their leftovers.

7. Every detail counts

Picky eaters are not adventurous eaters. They rarely try new foods. They'll see something and not want it just because of the smell, the look or even the texture. Every detail counts.

8. Thanksgiving is not about the food

They don't like turkey, cranberry sauce or potatoes. All their relatives ask them why they aren't eating. So they'll usually just put a bunch of food on their plate and not eat it.

9. Dogs are their best friends

The saying a dog is a man's best friend is the truest for picky eaters. Why show people you have a full plate of food you didn't eat when you can just feed it to your dog?

10. Too many deja vu moments

It's a pain making dinner or lunch plans with them because they have to look up every menu of every restaurant before going. Usually, you end up at the same restaurant every single time you eat with them. And they will not surprise you when they order the same thing they always do.

11. They'll never shut up when they discover a new food

When the picky eater discovers a new restaurant or new food that they will, they'll constantly rave about it. They'll never shut up because it's a once in a lifetime moment for them

All in all, picky eaters are everywhere, and you can spot one a mile away. Trying a new food as a picky eater is their biggest accomplishment. But make sure, if you're gonna throw a party for them afterwards check with them before you make the menu.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
