One of the biggest pet peeves for people around this time of year is Thanksgiving being disregarded in favor of Christmas carols, movies, and traditions. While Christmas is my favorite holiday, I also love Thanksgiving because it reminds me of how many wonderful things I have in my life. Plus, it's a day of food.

If Christmas music should be left until after Thanksgiving, than what should we sing in the meantime to celebrate the aforementioned holiday? Never fear my friend; I've got you covered. Here are 11 songs to get you in the gratitude mood.

1. Linda Belcher's Thanksgiving Song

If you're feeling super festive, this short ditty from "Bob's Burgers" is guaranteed to get you in the mood for some classic Thanksgiving food and gratitude.

2. "Thank You" by Sly & The Family Stone

As the group sings, "I want to thank you falettinme / Be mice elf agin [for letting me be myself again]," this song gives a shout out of appreciation to those who support us no matter what.

3. "Little Wonders" by Rob Thomas

Sometimes life gets hard, but it's important to remember all of the little moments that come together to form an entire life.

4. "Baby Mine" by Bette Midler

We all cried during "Dumbo;" there's no shame here. If you're thankful for your mother (or any maternal figures for that matter), then this song will give you all the sentimental feelings.

5. "Dance, Dance, Dance" by The Steve Miller Band

This is another great song to recognize the importance of passing moments and living your best life.

6. "In My Life" by The Beatles

Our loved ones get us through the best of times and the worst of times, and they are so important to have in our lives.

7. "Thank You For The Music" by ABBA

Sometimes things like music are just as important as people are. This song recognizes all the great music of the world that means a lot to us.

8. "What A Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong

In a world that we often forget about amidst all of our problems, it can be nice to take a step back and marvel at the beauty of our natural world and its wonders.

9. "It's Time" by Imagine Dragons

This inspirational song is about overcoming the low points in life and has potential to lift any low spirits.

10. "Your Song" by Elton John

To me, this is another great song that reminds listeners of their own incredible value.

11. "Banana Pancakes" by Jack Johnson

Though the world outside can be cold and dreary, take comfort in remembering all of the things you're thankful for that are right in front of you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
